Jake is such a decent and low-key person. Struggled with mental health issues during the lockdown, but overcame everything and continues to be successful. Absolutely hate it for him that this effed in the head woman continues to stalk him and his loved ones.

Sucks that restraining orders are the only recourse to remedy this kind of behavior until something really bad happens.

It sucks that the people in her life couldn't convince her to seek help if she moved across the country to follow a hockey player. She's clearly not able to think rationally for herself and someone in her family circle needs to step in.

People tried to help her and she wouldn't take it so it led her to be banned from the Garden, Hub Hall, the Star Market at the Garden as well as Warrior arena. People even tried to report her to Twitter and they did nothing. Glad both the Bruins and Canucks have taken steps to make sure DeBrusk and his gf/family as well as his teammates/coaches safe. Not sure what WA laws are but maybe she'll actually face consequences.

To be honest, it's a good thing here that she is stupid. Or acted stupidly at least.

I guess that no one wants ro be complicit in a non-compliance of a restraining order.

Seriously hope the Debrusk family finds a way to stay safe - this Jan person is a danger to herself and to those around her, even to those she claims to care for.

I dealt with a stalker for years, it makes your life f***ing miserable. Moved, changed my phone number, changed my social media etc. Still found me. These people are mentally ill, if that wasn't obvious, and it's surprising how much they can get away with before police can intervene, even with a restraining order. Delusion wouldn't even begin to describe how they act.

for stalkers, maybe i'm wrong but it seems more about protecting themselves (their ego) than the actual target.

At what point does someone have to go to jail for something like this?

It's pretty hard to. Getting the intial restraining order isn't a picnic and then the stalker generally has to violate restraining orders MULTIPLE times before ending up in jail.
