Huh?If he played for a big market team he would definitely be in Vezina talks. But, he plays on the Canucks and doesn't get as much media exposure and not much narrative from sports journalists.
He has excellent advanced stats, but as the only goalie stats that seem to count - where an unscreened flubber from the blueline has as much chance of being a goal as a breakaway - he won't get many votes.
Not many goalies in this league has as tough of an enviroment to perform as the Canucks. Other examples are Chicago and the Rangers.
Yeah, the Canucks aren't exactly Arizona, but they're not Toronto/ Rangers/ Montreal either. They have a media army.Huh?

So? Did he do it consistently for long enough? Why do you think the buzz for Scrievens after ONE shutout isn't enough? Consistency? Is Scrivens consistent enough to be in the conversation, you think?Scrivens had a 59 save so vs the Sharks though
You are confused right now. It is currently 2020, not 2017. Markstrom will likely be a finalist for the Vezina this year - as in the trophy that awards the best goaltender of the year.
That's awesome! Why didn't things work out in Florida for him?
To answer that thread about whether the "are the Canucks for real?"
The answer is Jacob Markstrom is
Yeah hockey night in Canada said he should be a candidate for the Hart. Has no chance at a Vezina nod.Yea, going to have to say that will be very unlikely.
