Player Discussion Jacob Bernard-Docker (D) Acquired from Ottawa in Cozens-Norris trade 3/25

Maybe he can become that Marino/Kovacevic type when they were underrated, but in any case I hope he will be good, even if in the third pair.

At this point the 2nd might have been traded for JBD especially with what Dman were going for this deadline. I've always liked him. He's a smart, mobile, player who sure has limited offensive upside, but always has strong defensive metrics.

If we obtained a defensively reliable #4-6 RD, then this trade certainly looks a whole lot better. We'll see how he does, but he could be a little bit of a gem just about to enter his prime. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Eh, depth/third pair RHD seem to be about a 4th at the deadline. If he finds a use in Buffalo, great, but I doubt they moved the pick in a separate value within the structure of the deal.

Docker was a 1st round pick. I am not one to push draft position has value but it does mean at some point he had potential.

I think Bernard-Docker is being undersold and wasn't given much of a chance in Ottawa. Has only played one full season. I am hoping what scouts saw when he was drafted is still there.

Not a big fan of Marino's takes but maybe. Maybe it's Cozens and a value for Norris and Gilbert and a value for Bernard-Docker with the two values combined reached to be a 2nd in total value. We don't know.
Cozens for JBD, 2nd and Gilbert for Norris :D

But seriously if a 2nd and 7th dman is the going rate for a spare 4-7 rhd (albeit former 1st rnd pick) that's on the high side and precursor to any summer activity ?
