I wonder how Dobson would look paired with Jackson, if NYI is actually open to moving him

We are not brining in anymore defensemen.. Thats for sure.. We gotta work with that we got.. As far as right handed defensmen.. Trouba and Gudas cant handle excessive minutes.. To old.. So whats left? Helleson.. I think Helleson takes a major step next year..

We could (and should) absolutely be bringing in another, better RD.

Pat would jettison Trouba or Gudas for an improvement in a heartbeat, I guarantee it.

Dobson is a sheltered OFD. His lowest OZ Start % at EV was 51.6% last season. This season, he was at 54.4%. Two seasons ago, it was at 65.1%.

LaCombe is a two-way D with offense. His OZ Start % at EV last year was 44.2%. This season, LaCombe was at 45.8%.

Dobson is not a great match for LaCombe. In fact, we probably have someone like Dobson in our system already in Luneau. LaCombe needs a top-4 stay-at-home D-man with speed, preferably. We might have someone in-house with Moore, but he will still be a rookie next season. Although, I think many of us would rather find an NHL established option.
