I like new folks.... I agree 100%, Dalton Prout is worse than Erixon and we only saw Exixon once or twice at the NHL level in the last year... What is the love affair with Prout? It seems as if any move the CBJ make is welcomed around here??? Jeez... what happened to truthful critical assessments?

I think it is because Dalton is a big, tough, hard-nosed D-man, that could develop himself into a decent shut-down guy that can make it tough on opponents that like to hang around the front of the net. He still might have some up-side, and is a good team first guy.

He won't be one of our top guys, but he can still give you good minutes, and at the cap hit is an affordable fill in when injuries occur. I like Erixon too, but he is a bit redundant, and will just have to wait his turn.

I like the signing. Good to have another tough guy on the ice and he will be fine as a 5-6 pairing. I just wish that he would play meaner.

Nothing wrong with this signing. for 2 years at a good salary/cap hit. Can sit in the press box for 2 years if he doesn't perform on the ice or can be traded with little difficulty.

Prout was simply not good last year but the year prior he was very good. I'm hoping we can call it a sophomore slump of sorts. Need to know who he is. For those who do support Erixon at the NHL level, this type of contract would allow the CBJ to sit Prout for Erixon and not have to worry about it. So if Erixon can perform and take the spot a contract should not be in his way.

HUH? Prout brings something pretty much none of our other defensemen bring and we just signed him to a CHEAP contract. What is there to dislike about that?

You can't really compare Prout with the other young defenseman we have. He is what he is. A young, big, strong, tough stay at home defenseman. We need another veteran version of him back there. I'm not talking Schultz or Aucoin, I'm looking for another legit big mean guy back there.
