A lot of talk on the mains that Seguin is not the center many had projected him to be.

lol....Or he was converted early on to RW because Boston had so many centers. He's a natural Center. Been playing out of position imo

The guy is a great player. And young...And signed.

is he worth Murray + 19th? Probably
is he worth Jenner + 14? Probably
is he worth Jenner + Murray? Probably....Although I'd hate to give up our top 2 propects.
is he worth Jenner + Murray + 1st? F no.

Kind confused over the Jenner love fest going on here. Guy is a projected 3rd line C and will be a long shot to even make the team. I'd trade him in a heartbeat to bring back a top 6 forward.

Maybe watch him play? It's not trading Jenner. its trading Jenner and Murray and maybe a pick. Jenner is a guy that does it all and is developing faster then most had predicted and with more offense. I really believe as with a lot of others that he's going to be more then the average 3rd liner.

He was a projected #3C. But after this past year it's easy to see him as a power forward who can be a #2C or even a scoring wing. Skating is still an issue, but his scoring has been good.

Defensive depth is one of the CBJ's strengths.
Not if you trade Murray.

Can't see the Jackets giving Holden and 1 way deal and he could easily walk because of that. Take him out of the picture too and that means Savard (who is not an NHL level player) and Goublef are #7/8 and that's only if they sign another NHL dman or bring Aucoin back.

Not to mention the fact that Nikitin fell off pace last season and the Jackets can't be 100% sure of what Prout will bring (see Clitsome in year 2).

I saw Jenner play 3rd line minutes in the World Juniors. With Anisimov, Dubinsky and Johansen in the fold there is no place for Jenner on this squad right now.

Erixon is in the mix there, too as #5 or #6 with Prout. Aucoin will probably be back for another year as the #6/#7. I'm fine relying on Goloubef/Savard as #8/#9. Plus, you can almost always find a vet somewhere if needed.

Johnson-Prout
Tyutin-Wiz
Erixon-Nikitin
Goloubef/Savard and maybe Aucoin or a different vet. I believe Erixon easily has more to give and we'll see it. Definetly feel Goloubef really has something to show and could be a full time player given a chance. Prout is the player with the highest chance of dropping off but i dont think he will. No noone here has Murrays potential but we are by no means weak in this department.

I realize we need to score more, but giving up another of our defensive prospects while we are thin on the blue line doesn't seem too smart.

Can always draft one or two. I am not a fan of the trade, but the fact is we would be trading players who haven't played in the NHL for one of the top, young players in the NHL. I don't just look at the stats. It is all about talent. Seguin might be able to put up big stats on the first line with Gaborik in Columbus. Again, not saying I would do it, but I could understand why we might.

He isn't needed if we have Seguin, Anisimov, and Johansen though. I am sure that would be Jarmo's thinking if that is what it took to get Seguin.

If we did pull off the deals above and still had 2 or 3 1st's we could still walk away with a decent forward and defenseman from the draft. If a 1st goes for Perron im not sure if they'd accept 19 or if they'd push for 14. either way we could find a nice player in either position

I think in that situation Johansen wouldn't be needed. Johansen has potential to be a good 2nd line center or maybe 1st if he puts it all together. I'd rather have Jenner as the 3rd line center and flip Johansen for whatever is viewed as being the biggest need.

You think it's either Perron or Seguin or depending on the price, does Jarmo go after both of them?

What is everyone's first option, Perron or Seguin? Lets base it on the rumours of Perron for a 1st rounder vs Seguin for Murray,Jenner, and a pick. Personally for me, I would rather give up a lot and get the better player in Seguin.

I think JK wants a top line of Perron-Seguin-Gaborik, so I think he's trying to hit the home run here.

I would rather have the player who has proven he can play that role in the NHL and has more potential.

How about

Murray + Jenner for Seguin
19 for Perron
Johansen + 14 and 27 (or w/e pick that is) for #1 and draft D :)

I like how this guy thinks.

But if we can somehow keep the 14th pick in those trades and Risto or Pulock is there at 14 it wouldn't be a bad idea to snag them and then see who is available at the next pick and take BPA. Too bad Reilly is still a few years away from even seeing the AHL. But maybe he could be used in a trade. Hes not a bad piece, he has potential and played with Seth Jones and performed quite well for the USA this year.

we are talking about trading Murray and Jenner for Seguin while apparently Calgary is another team in the mix and their offer being 6th overall and Gaudreau? One of these things is not like the other

Really hoping the Murray/Jenner thing is balderdash ... do not want to see that trade take shape.
