Carolina doesn't care about Montreal more than another team. The marketing team loves the idea of a rivalry, but the coach and players don't care one bit.

Montreal can win or lose against Carolina because of skill and execution, not because of any emotional drive that overpowers all things in a meaningless game 82 for Carolina.
