Where is that anywhere in the press?
Stop twisting a story from his home country press that does not say that at all.
He said it did he not...otherwise somebody is making it up...besides he'd rather play in the NHL than the AHL and making Minor League wages right and aren't the Devils a middling team...young players get impatient and I bet the Devils promised him the Moon as they(scouts,GM's) always do with Prospects to come over to North America and have control of them...read between the lines and maybe you come up with the answer

Devils need a third line center and scoring in the bottom six.
Don't most teams

For all his warts, Severson was a true soldier here. Big minutes, all situations, all around quality play. Minus the slightly-more-than-occasional mega-mistake of course. If the dollars fit he would still be a Devil. Nemec, Casey and $$$ are what ended his stay here.
I don't doubt it, but the dollars would be what they still are. He's looking better for us lately so there's no push to get rid of his contract or anything like that.

No he actually didnt. Maybe the team you follow but Devs don't promise anything. Perhaps at 2OA he expected it, who wouldn't as a pro athlete. It's all frothy to make a narrative that's not there. If they can move him in a pkg for something stupid, sure do it. For nothing special wait to see what happens with hamilton this summer.

Especially after Kovacevic gets an extension.
They haven't even talked extension yet, so probably a little early on that.

And even if they did sign Kovacevic, it could just mean that Dougie is out the door.

Are the Devils looking to move on from Dougie Hamilton?
Off season its a possibility, but not in season. He has a full no move until July.

I hope he kept his nose closed, because the stink coming off that pile of trash game is going to stay in his nostrils until the deadline.

Hamilton signed for 7 years right and he's only 4 years into this contract after this year...doubt the Devils eat his contract and put him on LTIR for 3 years...signed for 7 years at 9 Million and last year was injured right and has played the equvalent of 2 1/2 years in 3 1/2

He's got a full ntc that gets modified this summer. Most of his salary on July 1 is bonus. We're owned by billionaires it's not money, it's the cap that is the issue.
Pay the bonus on the 1st, work with one of the teams on his list. Eat a portion of the remaining deal. We're not worried about DH at all. Having defenders is better than not having them.

Maybe Yanni Gourde would be a how fit for like a 2nd rounder and a prospect

Maybe Nolan Foote gets traded to Seattle cause he's never been given much of a chance in New Jersey anyways, along with the draft choice and...Nico Daws
Foote + sure, Daws not sure they'd do that. He's a Brodeur find and just coming off dbl hip surgery . I think they'll wait to see if it's limited to be done as a pro

A Broduer find makes things clearer I guess so Jake Allen walks and Markstrom gets signed and Daws is the backup just like that

I don’t necessarily expect Markstrom gets signed. Just Allen walks and Daws backs up Markstrom’s final year under his current contract and the team figures out a new plan based on how well they do (as well as the development of the likes of Malek and Yegorov) and who becomes available at that time.

Don’t think any team is planning an extension of a 36 year old to be ‘plan a’. It’s an option but not necessarily an ideal one.

Maybe they can get Schmid back from Vegas after they gave him and Holtz away for the slug welcome back Cotter...Daws and Schmid could 1A,1B until some other youngsters arrive

Cotter is twice the player Holtz is. And I was not happy when this trade was made. PC is a glue guy, Holtz, just glue!
Schmid asked to be moved, so buh bye. Daws or otherwise for now is fine.

Cotter is older than Holtz and will never score 20 goals...he hasn't scored since Oct it seems...Jersey like so many Swedes before him brought him over too soon and nearly ruined him...see 1st rounders Tedenby,Josefsen,Bergfors
