Oh wow. I was today years old when I realized "shorter goalie" actually means "actually a bit taller than the average human male in their respective country of origin but we just really want tall people in goal these days".

To be honest, the reason I really like this community (though I lurk rather than post), is that it's not too big.

The live threads for teams with large fan bases are basically unreadable: there's a new message every few seconds, so people don't write well reasoned arguments. Those would just get lost in the sea of one line messages. Whereas this board has good actual discussion.

More philosophically, it's a nice illustration of Marshall McLuhan's "The Medium is the Message": when the flow becomes too great, the quality goes down. So I hope the community doesn't get too big.
