Player Discussion Jack Quinn, RW (8th overall, 2020): Named AHL Rookie of the Year

For blustering Adams has done, Quinn actually pretty much earned his NHL spot.

AHL rookie of the year, full AHL year out of junior.

Productive NHL rookie year.

He looked good when he played last year, on a ~55+ pt pace over 27 games.

Quinn has not looked good or been productive this year.

The question is, what can we do and what is best for his long term development at this point.

Conditioning stint. Let him sit for a game or two up here with *insert an injury* get his 5 games in Rochester and hope that potting a bunch of goals clears his head.

In theory there is no reason for Jack Quinn to regress. He came back from injury and had 19 points in 27 games.

He does look tentative out there, he also seems to be shooting the puck at the goalies chest a lot. I feel like sooner or later it will come but we need guys producing now to make the playoffs.

Give him the Ricky Bobby treatment and enclose him in the offensive zone with a cougar and for every corner he picks the cougar gets tranqed, every jersey crest he hits the cougar gets a hGH shot

Quinn has said he feels most comfortable on LW. Thought he had a game there earlier this year where it looked like things started to click but then they shuffled him back to RW. Cozens being a right shot isn't on his forehand on the breakout to utilize that side as easily. Confidence is tied in to some other things but if they can put him on RW for a time, maybe things shift for him. It's the lack of effort that is most troublesome for me.
