Proposal: Jack Johnson for Spooner?

Johnson might not be a need in Boston, especially at the cost of Spooner, but holy cow is there some underrating of JJ in this thread, and I'm not even a huge fan of his.

JJ is not a top pair D. But you're also not going to find one of those with Spooner as the most valuable piece going the other way.

The Jackets probably eventually move JJ, my guess is to a solid playoff contender at the deadline (like Pittsburgh) that is looking for a big game player. Say what you will about him (he's been dysmal for much of his regular season career), he's always on a different level come playoffs or international play.

Ahh, a poor sad Leafs fan. Liles as a 3rd pair D at 2M is just fine actually. He was misused on that tire fire of a team he played for in Toronto. 20ish points from your relatively mobile, able to play both sides 35 yr old Dman, is just fine bud.
