I like Mercer but were waiting for the pop and it's not bad but where is it? Cozens apparently is a leader on his team, scrappy etc. Cozens with 86 and 63 is very dynamic right now, csbt say that about Mercer. Feel like Brayden Schenn is what you need. He can play center in top 6 until Jack is back, and then slide to 3c or fill your top 6 wing need. And he’s signed beyond this season, so you ain’t paying for a rental. He has done skill, he is tough, he is a leader, pretty much checks all the boxes.

I expect Blues would have interest in Nemec and we can gibfrin there.

Your proposals are always one sided that inevitably amount to overpaying with pucks or projects for an expensive vet the Rangers are looking to dump. Unless thr OP said how can we give away a top product for a short term fix thst creates multiple problems in future years your proposal makes zero sense for NJ. Again the Rangers need Hamilton to pick up for Fox and Perrault needs to be sent to NJ. That’s what you are proposing.

Suter + Boeser to NJD for Mercer + makes a ton of sense.

NJD has cap to re-sign both Boeser and Suter - both fill a need at 2RW and 3C. Can't be a serious team and rely on a 34 year old Haula and Lazar as your two bottom Cs.

Mercer needs a change of scenery and somewhere that has more opportunity which Canucks can provide.
