Miller easily at this point. Eichel has 0 playoff experience and an injury history.

Miller’s been better, but Eichel is younger and more talented. Although Miller is 14th in scoring the last four years.

Miller has played nearly 1:30 more than Eichel on the PP this season. With that usage Eichel would be more productive easily while being a better defensive player. Eichel is better.

They’ve scored at nearly the same rate at even strength the last two seasons. He’s also been the healthier of the two, scoring more in the aggregate, and Eichel isn’t useful if he’s going to miss a bunch of games no matter his scoring rate.

Not only has Miller blown him out of the water in actual points, if we just look at PPG only, Miller averages 87 points per 82 games and Eichel averages 79 points over 82 games in the past four seasons (when Miller first joined the Canucks).

So even if you ignore injuries and try to paint Eichel in the best possible light, Miller still comes out on top.

Miller also has the higher peak season, and is having a better season currently too.

You can look at it from peak, you can look at it from consistency, you can look at it from recency, regardless of what you choose, Miller comes out ahead.

Maybe if all you look at is point production in deeming how good a player is

Miller pks and starts more in the defensive zone than Eichel does. Eichel is also riding a higher on-ice shooting percentage and PDO. At a certain point you’ll just realize that Miller is plain more productive with greater defensive assignments, but the best reason to choose Eichel isn’t production but because age. Eichels not leaving his prime, Miller should be any moment.

Eichel also leads his team in PPG and is much more productive at ES. Advanced data will tell you Eichel is a better defensive player at ES as well, although I know VGK vs. VAN as defensive teams play a large role in that. Watching both players play though, eye test shows me who is the more well-rounded player, and Eichel also impresses me much more on the offensive end when he is clicking. JT is more consistent though. Just my two cents. I don't see why age matters for this poll because it's who is currently the better player. Give me Eichel

As a neutral fan of BOTH players, this is clearly and easily JT Miller. Defensive dynamo, always racks up a ton a points, tough as nails, leader on and off the ice, etc

3 straight years under PPG for Eichel, Miller has been consistent scoring threat despite starting slow this year he's now on pace for another 80+ point season.

Eichel and defense, funny.
