I posted on the Bruins board and I'll post here. I grew up in Boston and hated the Bruins but would watch because we couldn't afford Center Ice. For me personally Jack would make the game fun even as a rival fan. I would root for the Bruins to lose so the homer announcer would be quiet :)

I hope they find out what's wrong with him and I wish him well. He wasn't everyones cup of tea but I found him entertaining and knowledgeable.

I’m always amazed at the kids on the internet that find time to worry about things like this.

It’s the internet. It’s full of useless crap. Some more so than others.

There’s grass outside. Go play in it.

Mad that this thread isn't popping off huh? No one cares about Jack Edwards now that he's not babbling incoherently about nothing.

This thread is more about my question than it is about the OP, which proves my point.

Never was a fan of him but he seems like a good guy. Crazy to see how bad the speech problem has gotten, hope he’s healthy and happy otherwise!

I went to play in the grass. Now I've gotten breakouts from my allergies and I can hardly breathe through my nose. Now I'm back in this thread with 3 weeks of sick days and tons of time because of your suggestion. Am I entitled to worry now?

I wish him the best of luck but gawd I hated listening to his calls lol. The homerisms didn't bother me very much but he was way behind the play and tended to run off on anecdotal tangents while the play went on. Definitely an acquired taste imho.

But best wishes.

Never understood the problem with a commentator being a homer for his team. We have Pierre Houde in Montreal, biggest homer there is, barely show any emotions when the opposite team scores, always whining about the refs... and most people love and respect him regardless lol.

All my respect to Edwards, he was super entertaining and spiced things up!

Why is this on the main board?

Bc the main board constantly had threads going after him.

Jack was a homer and freely admitted it, It was painful to watch him try to have a simple conversation tonight.

I can tell you Jack reads HFBoards and has for over 20 years.

He had some memorable calls
