2nd chance? He gave the team a shot to win.. not his fault this teams scoring goes down the toilet in the playoffs

i agree with you he did give the team a chance to win. Its not his fault. but he still lost the game and i think deserved game 2 which he did and thus redeemed himself

Goalie progression is very hard to predict, and often not at all linear. Campbell had his struggles in the past, but man, he’s on fire now. Absolutely saved our season, I have so much confidence in him back there.

He's gonna have to carry the team potentially tomorrow. Back to back after Montreal has dished out a lot of hits in 2 of the last 3 days.

Great to see he wasn't a regular season only goalie. He is showing flashes of brilliance. He is so calm in the net and remains a great sportsman and teammate. We love you Jack!

Wish we could cheer for you in those stands:

CAMP-BELL! CAMP-BELL! CAMP-BELL!

Campbell has been stellar throughout the first 3 and I think he's been the Leafs' best player. A lot of posters were grumbling about that second goal, which admittedly wasn't great. The comparable would be a pitcher allowing a solo-shot home run on a hanging curveball but throwing 7 or 8 scoreless innings apart from the one mistake. We can't expect perfection from any of our players, and Campbell more than made up for it with his huge saves at the end of the game.

Even his first three saves last night were on point. He started off by taking away all of the net for the 4 minutes of the double minor and not allowing the Habs to hit the net, then he stopped a 2-on-1, a straight-away shot from a decent location, and then he shut the door on a redirected puck from in tight. Perfect rebound control on all three too.

There's a different feeling of confidence that I have as a fan this post-season. Can't jinx anything, but Campbell is proving himself to be a legitimate difference maker.

Old pirates, yes, they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look? Ooh
Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fullfil the book
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our mind
Woah, have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fullfill the book
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever had

The beauty with Campbell is even if he lets in a soft goal. You know he’s going to use it as fuel and finish strong. #Cantstopjack

Can’t say I’ve ever felt that way with Freddy.

100% agree on that. I had no confidence with Freddy . I think the team plays different in front of Soupy

Dusty Imoo in LA deserves all the credit for turning Campbell around. Paul Bissonette shared what happened in his time with LA on the Spittin Chiclets podcast. He said Jack was going through depression and would just shit on himself all the time. Dusty took him on a little guys trip for a few weeks and they didn't talk hockey at all. Dusty got to know him as a person and got Jack to open up. They worked on his mental state away from hockey first and then focused on one thing at a time when it came to playing goal. After that trip Bissonnette and other team mates noticed a difference in Jack's demeanor on and off the ice and all of a sudden his number were lights out.
