While true, Hedman missed a wide open net as well. It happens. It's just incredibly unfortunate both happened in the same game and we got shutout.

It's not about one miss. If the 2nd center scores less than 0.5 ppg over a significant period, it means that you can only win if Kucherov scores 3 or it will be a loss even against Chicago. If bottom wasn't so useless it wouldn't be such a problem, but alas.

I'm glad you're coming around to the fact that a lot of our woes in games like is that we don't have depth scoring. Shut down Kuch and it's over. And yes, if Cirellis line can't contribute, then we are cooked. We need a better bottom six. We can make a run if we could rely on the odd goal from them but we can't. Its gotta be the worst in the league without looking it up.

Yes our bottom is bad just on paper, but it shouldn't be THAT bad. Let's say last season Girgensons scored 8+6=14 in 63 games. Why can't he do it now? I blame Cooper.

The team as a whole is doing well in most categories, certainly better than last season and as was mentioned, top 10 in most. It's a rough month for the team, but it's far from sky is falling territory. Thankfully, aside from the few fake doom and gloom Lightning "fans" on here, most are reasonably optimistic about the direction the team is headed, provided JBB makes a couple of impact moves at the TDL. Next season under Cooper and JBB should only get better, as a couple of prospects should make the.jump and Tampa will have considerable room to bring in a couple of solid ufa's, at the least

The problem is that it doesn't all come down to one player. Realistically, we have two players who are playing at the level you expect - Kucherov and Hagel. At the same time, there is not a single player who really overperforming, but a bunch of players who are underperforming. When it happens, it makes sense to blame the coach.
