Not much talk about Anderson trades these days but I can see it picking up, as we get closer to the TDL. Lebrun quote: I do think teams will call the Habs again about Anderson.

No idea how aggressive teams would get but I can see some solid offers being made. Big boy that skates well and can play physical. Seems to have stablized himself in a 3rd line role and a great penalty killer.

LeBrun is a shill for Hughes. Everyone knows that and here is LeBrun again embarrassing himself for his Habs access.

He’s a 30 point player making $5.5m for 2 years after this one. Habs retain 50% and maybe get a 4th if they find a sucker.

I mean, I think 2.75 is good value for Anderson but I still don't believe the offers would wow the Habs, verses the retention cost. Wouldn't he be worth more to the Canadiens to just hold onto, with the kids coming up?

Armia is probably be more interesting, as a defensive forward, as a rental.

No idea what teams would offer us for Anderson at 50% retention and you are not wrong, we are not going to let him go for cheap. I feel actual NHL GM's would offer us more than what you see from fans on these boards to be honest. I do think we are going to get some calls on Anderson.

Armia is another that can help a contender. His skating is not as good as Anderson but he is a big boy that plays a good forecheck and is good on the PK.

Not sure Anderson has any value even at $2.75M.

If he could return something, MTL may not find it so appealing that they wanna take up a retention spot for the next two years.

Nevermind that they only have one retention slot left this season. They probably could get more facilitating a trade at the deadline as a third team than by trading Anderson.

Anderson would return a good asset at 50% - probably similar to the Malenstyn deal imo - but Habs only have 1 retention spot remaining and it is better spent elsewhere. Maybe in the summer

Habs should bite the bullet and keep him and trade Armia/Dvorak/Savard/Evans instead

Anderson's best value is his term left at this point in time. He's finally stabilized in a 3rd line and PK role and he's been great at it. Habs are looking further than just 2+ years and I don't think we will extend him at age 33+ (after this deal expires). Anderson can help a contender for this playoffs and two more seasons... more than he can help the Habs in the next 2 years. If not traded this TDL, I can see him being moved before that term ends.

Savard and Dvorak may be traded or they stay/expire. I do know the Habs want Laval to go on a deep AHL run and we rather not take talent away from them on their run because we traded away several UFA's.

Armia is one we might want to retain but it will come down to the offers.

I think we are waiting to see the offers for Evans before they extend him. Smart move

LOL, of course not. All Habs players are untouchable according to Habs fans.

In reality, he's an injury-prone forward who struggles to get 30 points in today's league. He's also so amazing at the PK that Montreal doesn't even use him on their first unit.

Most GMs wouldn't give up a 3rd for this player even at 50% retention.

I stopped reading after LOL. Not the style of conversation I am looking for. Try it with someone else.

I don't know how this dude ever got $5.5M

The context was after Bergevin traded for him, his agent said 1 year or 7 year extension. Basically his contract was set up as him being overpaid in the 1st half and underpaid in the 2nd half but then Covid came along.

I think he's going to end this contract very well when you look at the cap increases and how he is playing this year.

Just refusing to read other's posts is in fact a great way to avoid ever having to debate them.

I get it, you are the type who thinks because you are on a popular bandwagon, that you are right. Best party going. Nobody can have any other opinion and if they do, you laugh and belittle. Speak your piece and move on. It doesn't have to be controversial

Anderson at 50% won't even return a 3rd. Yeah, sure buddy

No, it's called you made an incorrect assessment not supported by the facts... as often happens with Habs player and their value or impact around here.

Best party going. Nobody can have any other opinion and if they do, you laugh and belittle.

Stating someone is a great penalty killer when they don't earn #1 PK time is not an opinion, it's blatantly false.

"Sure buddy" is not a counter-argument FYI.
