Value of: Ivan Demidov vs 2025 1oa

It's not a black/white "Demigod is better, here's why".

You’re right, there could be a lot of teams that think Demibust is not going to succeed in the NHL especially since Montreal has consistently proven that they always select the wrong player with their lottery picks.

You're the worst Habs troll this forum has to offer. You seem like the sort of dude who expends more energy on hating the Habs (you're in every bloody Habs thread with your amateur shtick) than cheering for your own team. Pathetic.

Depends on who gets the pick. If it's the Sharks, considering they already have 4 very nice young D:

Dickinson
Cagnoni
Thrun
Mukhamadulin

And a pair of top centers:

Celebrini
Smith

They would likely trade the 1st overall pick for an elite RW combo player who could play alongside Celebrini for 10-12 years.
The Sharks’ biggest positional need is D, and their current roster players/prospect pool is pretty shallow. Wing is a position of relative strength (Chernyshov, Musty, Halttunen, Lund). I would virtually guaranty the Sharks draft Schaefer if he is available to them and would not trade him for Demidov. Dickinson likely doesn’t have #1 potential, Muk is an injury-prone #3/4, Thrun is a #6/7, and Cagnoni is a long shot to make the NHL (small with non-elite skating).

Thrun is terrible and is not going to be a part of the Sharks long term future unless he miraculously turns things around. He literally cannot find his way out of the defensive zone.

Sharks biggest need is on the blueline. If they get 1OA they would not trade it for Demidov.

Who cares about priority. They draft BPA on #1.

The reply was about GM wouldn't trade this year 1st overall pick for Demidov.

Who cares if he wasn't drafted 1st overall in 2024.

Not every draft class is equal.

I follow more junior hockey than anyone posting here, its my job, not a single player is better now or have a better potential than Demidov.

Now foh.
You’re so wound up because others don’t share the same opinion as you. Nothing makes you an authority over another poster here. Many people value a potential #1 dman over a potential #1 winger. Its fine if you don’t, but to act as though you’re right and they’re wrong is silly.

They 100% would tho.

Demidov is a better prospect than any player in the 2025 draft. He would go first in 2025 if he was in that class.

This is literally baseless. He's played 1 NHL game.

Misa is the highest scoring player in the he OHL since Kane and Tavares in 07. And he did it on a team where the only other good player was a defenseman. He's also got a very strong 2-way game and plays center.

Schaefer is a 1 man army, it sucks his season was cut short or he may have challenged for 100 points this year. He's a complete force on the ice, took over games on his own. Assuming he comes back strong he could very easily be a top 10 defenseman in the league in his prime.

I am not saying they will be better but it's nowhere near as clear cut as you are making it out to be.

Demidov would be 3ppg in that league. btw this is a thread about Demidov. Nobody has more value than him in that draft except maybe Schaefer.

A generational talent now? My god there are 5 players in the entire league with that status; Crosby, Ovi, McDavid, MacKinnon, and Makar.
That's not how it works. If that's your definition of generational you have to add Kucherov, then the list gets too crowded. You need to go back to study.

He broke a record in the KHL, you think he can't break a record in the OHL playing in the juniors? Have you seen Demidov play?
I feel like you've never actually seen the list of players that have played in the history of the OHL.

Demidov broke the U-20 scoring record with 16 extra games played. He's 6th all time in ppg behind Kaprizov, Michkov, Filatov, Kuznetsov, and generational talent Nail Yakupov.

I'm sure that compares nicely to Lindros, Gilmore and McDavid.
