He’s an incredible player, the Blackhawks are a loser organization for passing up on him and will remain a bottom feeder for a long time. Demidov could easily be a top 5 player in the league for the next 10-15 years if he stays healthy. Habs are my second team as I lived in Montreal for 7 years so I am happy for you guys. The Hawks board is clueless, no one talking about what we passed on, everyone trying to sweep it under the rug.

Well, I sure wish we had just simply taken Nazar instead of trading that pick for Dach. He just can't stay healthy.

Their D they got will be pretty good. Not superstar level but very good.

The backcheck wasn't good on the third goal but that aside, what an incredible debut. The building was electric and he gave them everything they wanted (except a W, which isn't on him at all. He did his part).

He's here. He's actually here and he's scoring goals for the Canadiens in 2024-2025.
Lots of good to look forward to.
His coming now will also force them to make a move for a c …. And many c would simply love to play with such a talent …. I wonder if a certain Sidney sees tonight highlights from the bell center hahahah

I got downvoted the other day because I said Demidov isn't perfect defensively and that's a part of his game he need to work on. I think he was tired on that shift but he looks bad once in while on the backcheck and second efforts.

Great game today, said it in the main board but he'll need to learn to backcheck at least a little.

Looking forward to seeing his intensity in the playoffs

Cole was good

Unbelivable game, he was lights out offensively and Newtard once again showing why he sucks. Guy could have had 3-4 points tonight. That being said, his back check on that Hawks goal was horrendous. It was a carbon copy of the Ovechkin controller disconnected GIF.

He should play with Suzuki and Caufield against the Canes and in the playoffs if they make it, it's do or die time and he's the real deal. Put your best players together so you have a true #1 line, rest of the forward core is mostly trash anyway.

Build a real second line for next season, 2C and upgrade over Laine unless he finds another gear. I won't hold my breath.

That game of Demidov made me realize that we have to keep Hage at all cost. The Habs lack dynamism with talent at the forward position and Hage is exactly what we are missing in our top 6. Slafkovsky is not that and Laine is even worse.

The game made me want to take a flyer on Zegras even more, if the price is right.

Bring in the talent. Then worry about size.

Playoffs? Playoffs? Playoffs?

But in terms of his defensive game, he also needs to learn to play the 3 on 3. He often drifted to the puck carrier who someone was already on, leaving a Blackhawk free to get a pass and walk in on Monty.

I was lambasted for saying we should've kept the pick and taken Nazar, and iirc, you were among those. No biggy though. The Dach experiment could've worked if not for the injuries.

I don't recall that at all. I mean once we traded that pick for Dach it was done. He's big & talented. Just never healthy. He was barely a contributing factor at all this year, which hurt the depth of this team big time.

Majority on here liked Nazar, so no one person can or should claim he was their pick. He was a lot of people's pick. Just like Kulich & ultimately Hutson

Anyways, it's all water under the bridge, but now we have to use more assets to try for another center because Dach isn't reliable.

Oh I'm not saying he was my pick, but I simply prefered taking him than the damaged goods who hadn't broken out yet.
