He's in Turkey right now waiting for the paperwork to be finalized so he can get on a flight. So I read a story from RG ? Dobt ask gor a link, that said Demi left Russia at 500 am and that it was a key checkpoint the Habs were anxious about. True ? False ? I have no idea. But imagine how whacky things are if there was still reservation that he would be allowed to come over.
Sure. They made the best out of a bad situation for them. Maybe they got some goodwill out of it. The alternative was getting Suge Knight to hold him off a top floor balcony until he signs.
Well, it's easy to remember: it's the last year the habs won a cup.93 will start to look really nice when we start to associate it with him
Interesting.
Just saw a podcast with Demidov’s agent, Ukrainian/Russian Dan Milstein. He was ‘North Americanizing’ the pronunciation of Demidov’s name. You usually don’t hear that with same language speakers.

It's in La Presse
Is it correctly dem-EE-dov or DEM-ee-dov?
I remember this with Romanov, where in Russian they put the emphasis on the 2nd syllable, and in English it's more natural to put it on the 1st syllable.
All remaining Hab games are in Canada until start of the playoffs. He has plenty of time to get his US visa, thankfully.
listening to the KHL broadcasts is appears to be dem-EE-DovIs it correctly dem-EE-dov or DEM-ee-dov?

That's what I remembered too, just wanted to check!
I also don't know at what point it's acceptable to "anglicize" something? I'm English, not Russian. But if it's just wrong to say it that way I won't.
French speaker here and I was going to say that I pronounce it as dem-EE-dov, so that might be something we do (emphasis on the 2nd syllable).I think French speakers would naturally say it closer to the proper pronunciation than English speakers.
It’s
ee-VON dem-EE-dov
Could be Matthews instead. Friday night will have a big say in that.Chance to play against Ovechkin in opening round no doubt played a role in him wanting to come over this season
He is the main reason why they are having success? It's Suzuki is the main reason why the line sees success not Slavkosky.Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
This is the best 1st line we've
You change this line and it's over for the team
Slaf is the main reason why this 1st line have success on the ice
It's up to the coaching staff to find the best 2nd line for Demidov
