FAT TONYs show figures Demi plays with Evans, why??
better centre then Newhook
and
on the 4th line he as the advantage against other teams then

But I find Slaf really does help PP1 tho..
Ideally you have Caufield and Laine on separate PP's but then who's feeding them on pp2..
Matheson got 62 points last year, and quite a few were on the PP with Caufield as the main shooter.

Add Dach and the two best of Newhook, Anderson, Gallager, Kapanen, Heineman.

But that's next year. This year Demidov would staret on PP2.

No player has ever had a three digit number. I think we should do that. Gretzky was 99. Demidov could be 100. That would really set the tone for his career, and it would intimidate opponents. He would be on a whole other level with an extra number.

I was originally going to suggest 999, but then I realized that flips around to 666, and that's just bad juju.

Also Lebrun,
Demidov's dream has always been to play in the NHL. It seems SKA went through a 5 step grief process. They accepted at some point he was leaving, which seems to have been a hard pill to swallow and then SKA really started helping him even after regular practices (including Rotenberg).
My speculation after what Lebrun said is that if there was any money exchanged it would have been money out of Demidov or his agent's own pocket.

My guess is with Laine and newhook

He won't touch the Suzuki line, and Dvo-Gally-Anderson is set, so.. yeah

Agreed...

Though it will be interesting to see how things go at practice and in the first few games with him in the lineup.

He and Kapanen are both very smart players who played well in pro leagues this year. If they can pick up the Habs style of play quickly enough, and play with the confidence, assertiveness & responsibility required to handle the playoff intensity, I wouldn't be surprised to see them slot Kapanen in between Demidov and Laine and slide Newhook onto a line with Evans & Armia.

1 - CC Suzuki Slaf - all situations
2A - Newhook Evans Armia - dzone start/ shut down matchup heavy
2B - Anderson Dvorak Gally - dzone start heavy
3 - Laine Kapanen Demidov -ozone start / exploitative matchup heavy

We won't really have a "crash & bang 4th line" almost regardless of how we set up the lines, but Newhook would help Evans/Armia in a matchup capacity and a Laine/Kapanen/Demidov line could pose absolute fits for opposing teams to matchup against down the depth chart
