U20 players need to play 10 games to burn ELC years normally, what is different for Demidov?
It's not different, lots of of people are super confused how it works from what I've seen lately though. Which is weird, because the rule haven't changed in decades. U20 ELC slide if the player doesn't play 10 games in the NHL (playoffs count).

Ha ha. You picked the sweet spot. Why become a Habs fan ?

Interesting if 93 is indeed correct. 1993 last Montreal Stanley cup. No one, not 1 player has ever worn 93 for the Montreal Canadiens (not 100% percent sure though, only 93% lol) but seriously I can't find anyone ever having worn 93 in Montreal ever

EDIT: I have been rightly corrected by Carey Chant & e-e that DOUG GILMOUR did in fact wear 93 before

Pretty wild praise, best player out of Europe since Barkov. That was over a decade ago. Adding a once-in-a-decade player to a core that already includes a once-in-a-generation defenseman and a few other really good pieces would be incredible.
Montreal fans don't even realize how much they'll love this player. It has nothing to do with stats. Pierre Turgeon had great stats but he was plain and boring. This guy is exciting at Hutson's level maybe more. Montreal loves these spectacular players.

Doug Gilmour wore it and wore it well. 93 is a great number, he will have options to switch to 91 or 11 if he really wants to later.

I probably watched a dozen of his KHL games this year, and when he wasn't playing 2 minutes a game he was typically the best player on the ice for both teams and was absolutely electric.

I just keep pinching myself because I don't understand how a player like this fell to #5.

It reminds me of Petterssons D+1 season where everyone realized he should have gone higher in the draft (pretty sure even in D+1, people were starting to say he should have gone 1st overall). Interestingly Demidov also went 5th, and if you're following the Sportsnet analyst's opinion, Demidov should be even better than him.

I had the experience of rooting against him the last two playoff games. I.E wanting him to fail personnaly (for his best interest). He is SO dangerous. He's floating like a hawk ready to pounce. A constant threat. Other team fans will absolutely hate him.
