Laine has been be

Laine has been better lately but he's just too slow to be effective on any line.He is strictly a PP specialist and even at that teams are catching on to the one timer. Was he always this slow? Also he seems weak at fighting in the corners for puck possession for a guy his size.
They aren't catching on to the one timer as much as they are waiting for it because no one else will shoot.

Can you imagine if Demidov could have an impact like Hutson, but on the offence. Or he's more impactful than Caufield when he just joined us for the 2021 playoffs.
That is a great boost to the team.
It can also be a slow start for him. He did not have the summer to train his body. Also Hutson come in the NHL at 20. I hope fans don't expect him to go PPG.

I thought before there was a comment somewhere Hughes said they think when he debuts he could have a similar impact to Hutson.

I'm with Lapierre, play him with Evans to start his career.

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovski
Anderson-Dvorak-Gallagher
Laine-Evans-Demidov
Newhook-Kapanen-Armia
Heineman
switch Laine with Armia. The Kapanen line will be the 4th playing limited minutes.

Caufield-Suzuki-Demidov do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah. Slaf could use a bit of "message sending" a-la Xhekaj since he's been pretty bad lately. CC sort of woke up last 2-3 games with some goals. Slaf is just coughing up pucks and taking penalties.

I would give Demidov a few shifts with Suzuki to see how it goes.

Slav just needs to wake up more still has a way before we consider him a 1st liner. He's really not done much to help that line. Put him on the 2nd or 3rd line like you said to wake him up.

He created that first goal with a great forecheck.

There’s some things done on the ice that don’t show up statistically for players individually. He’s a big part of the success of that line. While Demidov is talented, they’d be missing a huge piece of the puzzle. For one, they wouldn’t cycle the puck well, at all. A lot of their offence comes from keeping the play alive.

It’s actually insane to me that someone would think of breaking up what is a Top 3 line in the NHL since the 4 Nations.

Listening to Tony and crew talking about Demi playing alongside Evans and Army does make some sense. He's covered defensively and gets the easier matchups against whoever they are playing. Pending how he adjusts to the NHL speed, then you can move him around the lineup if need be.

There's a good chance he's going to play on the fourth line in his first game.

He shouldn't play with Newhook and Laine,
Well I mean why not though? Kappy and Heineman did...surely he could outperform those 2 no? Or were you more trying to ease him in?
