Is he the early favorite for next years Calder? Nikishin should be considered as well. Demidov will hopefully be stapled to Dach and Laine and receive significant PP time.

WOW haha good read ty,
I like the part where Rotenberg might resign and where other teams are taunting SKA, I tought the protest would have been players against Rotenberg, but since its Russia its just one more ridiculous thing over another, SKA protesting against the league for bad partizanship LOL, total russian scums mentality "like us or we protest"
Next time you do this, do a little bit of cover-up work to try to hide your obvious racism.

This situation was ridiculous in itself and didn't need an addition of racism and biases to be dunked on. You could easily make fun of the coach himself or the team even without deciding that it is a typical aspect of their society (which it is not, your whole comment is very puzzling).

I don't think we NEED a russian player/mentor for this guy on the team , He will be hugging Slaf and Dach before you know it , he's already a little bit enamored by north american sports culture you can tell from his interviews and his knowledge on different sports from hockey to basketball so I'm not so worried as I'd be with the usual Russian prospect who doesn't speak a lick of english.

Ilya Kovalchuk on Ivan Demidov:

''God grand it. For me, youth is always a priority, It's better than signing up some obscure foreigners. We need to give chances to our young guys - there'll be even more talents than Demidov.

''Demidov, well done! A cool guy, confident in himself. The fact hat Kuzya played with him also givs him confidence. I know that they communite well with each other. Kuzya had a great connection with Demidov. It's strage that they aren't often put together. But when they play together, it's very vivid. It's clear that the kid's hands are free from the coaching staff, they give him the opportunity to be creative and he does it. It's not for nothing that the general manager from the NHL comes to personally to his game.

Indeed

Also, it's a known fact that Galchenyuk's development was severely hindered by a scammer skating coach from Montreal. He never recovered from that.

As for KK, he was just too arrogant to ever develop.
was the skating coach Brandon Prust?

*inserts vid of Prust making fun of Galchenyuk’s skating that has vanished from the internet for some reason*

What a player. He's going to be a game breaker wherever he plays

The people most annoyed with Rottenberg's antics must be SKA season tickets holders lol
He's brilliant. Even knowing the player will be moving on, if you're a fan you want to win. Imagine if you're an Ajax Amsterdam fan and they're sitting Luis Suarez the year before he leaves to the EPL. You're pissed!
