I doubt even his biggest fans before the 2024 draft thought he would progress this fast and would be doing some of the shit he's done in the KHL this season....This is nuts. It's making the KHL look like a peewee league. Yes, I know the KHL isn't what it used to be but this is still a men's professional hockey league and probably the 2nd or 3rd best one in the world.

@Bombshell11 is definitely going to have something to say about this.

Never saw that photo of @montreal before around here.

I think we should can the generational talk only because it’s so imprecise.

What would be more rigorous is to figure out how big the gap is between Kucherov/Kaprizov and McDavid THEN try to see where Demidov could ultimately fall on that spectrum

If Demidov ends up at Kucherov or Kaprizov level....we are Cup contenders for the next 10-12 years.

Adding a Kucherov or Kaprizov to this current core would absolutely thrust us into contender status. I have zero doubts about that.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't at that level. He has all of the skills, IQ and compete level those types of players have.

I didn’t figure he’d fall to the Habs. Seems like the Blackhawks did the same thing the Habs did in 2022 and 2023: avoid the more skilled player who’d make the top6 possibly “undersized” even though Demidov isn’t undersized. Maybe his skating got them to prefer other options?

ANA wanted size and got a very cool prospect. CBJ went for broke and picked the Krieder archetype and God help them with Lindstrom’s back.

Whatever their judgement is fair enough, you don’t want a “good core” that can’t get it done in the playoffs. If size is so important then so be it, but I’m happy with Demidov coming on board.

Laine - Dach - Kucherov/Kaprizov - would be one of the best lines in the league even with Dach at centre.
Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf - would be the best 2nd line in the league and is already better than 10-12 first lines.

Like trying to understand the size of the universe, I don't think my mind can even comprehend Demidov hitting Kucherov/Kaprizov level.

I am so excited to get this kid over here!!!!
