Or early dismissal. You screw up a top 5 pick and your career options narrow.

I love people here who expect GMs to exercise patience. This isn’t a video game. It’s the real world and if your team isn’t progressing, you’re out the door. If its your job on the line you aren’t taking risks that can come back and bite you in the ass.
that's why they should have taken Leonard/Michkov imo. Reinbacher wasn't a Dahlin level prospect, still baffles me. Oh and before everybody jumps in with the 'but RHD are key' because you read it on a message board, you can find them in the market.

Even though I’m pretty new to hockey, in all other sports I’ve always thought you need to go best player available instead of reaching for a need.

You do NOT get rd as good as Reinbacher in a trade very often,

Dude, you have no idea what you’re talking about. I killed it in NHL 24 Franchise mode. I think I know how to GM Thank you.

The NFL draft is much more of a need driven draft than a BPA driven draft.
Yes, and this is true for pretty much all sports where a lot of drafted players can start playing in the big league pretty quickly (because they come out of the NCAA). Versus hockey where very very few 18 years old are ready to play against men, so you expect some development and you don't know how your team will look like anyway in 2-3 years.

Always drafting BPA "blind" and thinking you can trade the excess anyway for your needs only work to a point. Other teams can see what you are doing and screw you up.

And you think Ryan Leonard proved something ? The guy is still in the NCAA. We don't know who will be better in the future, I'm keeping Reinbacher for now thank you...
yes, but at least he's actually playing. Reinbacher has been sidelined for two years with horrendous knee issues. If he was a horse he would be put down at this point

I think it was explained by Bobrov regarding the Michkov issue, they did not want another small forward in the top 6 besides Caufiled. This is their reasoning for passing him over, and they did like DR..............and here we are.
For those guys who have watched Laval, most say we have a RD stud on our hands.

yeah but i'm still pissed over the Kostitsyn draft so i'll be upset for the Reinbacher pick for a few more years yet.

pretty obvious he's done with them...
He's clearly done with them, but it seems quite annoying to be interviewed during warmup, I'd be keeping my answers short as well... Also must be frustrating to get media attention like he was an important part of the team and meanwhile he is getting next to no playing time while his team loses.

I hope he’s a stud because their D, aside from Hutson, sucks.
