Prospect Info: Ivan Demidov (2024 5th OA): SKA St. Petersburg (KHL): Part II

Nah, Marco knows what he's saying. I've known him for a very long time, and can confirm that he's been in regular contact with Demidov's agent Dan Milstein over the last few months.
Even if this is true, why would anyone assume Milstein is going to tell all to some reporter

As if he would come out and say “yeah Ivan is unhappy here so the Canadiens are negotiating with SKA to get him out of his contract (probably violating international sanctions btw)”

I’m just saying, take any NA news about Russia with a healthy serving of salt

He hasn't scored in 16 games. Perhaps St. Petersburg senses he needs a rest before the playoffs.:dunno:

No, Rotenberg said his physical conditioning isn’t up to par; especially when playing against physical teams like Traktor/Avtonibilist.

But Rotenberg was somewhat vague. Why say Demidov needs to train, then keep him out training? Lolol

Rotenberg has an amazing talent for not saying a whole lot despite very lengthy answers.
I guess we’ll find out what the deal is once playoffs start.

Not only this. The reason is they CANNOT send Nikishin to the MHL. They can send Demidov. Its all in the article. SKA prioritizes winning trophies and will send down after they are eliminated anybody that CAN BE sent down to improve their chances of winning the Kharlamov Cup (MHL Trophy).

Not playing their best player in the playoffs would undermine this sentiment.

Then what about the report that said he’ll be benched for the playoffs?

Why is he saying Nikishin may do it then?

No reason to give two different answers if he doesn't know.

Saying someone “may” do something is not a real bold take though is it?

It's a lot more bold than a may in the article:
"After his many years of service to the organization, his representatives and SKA have come to an agreement that he would be able to leave early to join the Carolina Hurricanes for the NHL Playoffs."

Fair enough, all I’m saying is don’t believe everything that comes out about what’s going on with SKA regardless of who the source is

Nowhere did Rotenberg say Demidov will be benched for the playoffs. That’s Montreal (social) media feeding the frenzy for views and clicks. It’s a vicious cycle.

Rotenberg merely said the playoff roster will be comprised of the guys on their current road trip.

Demidov isn’t playing tomorrow, but he’s with the team. Again, Rotenberg being intentionally vague.

Nobody knows wtf is gonna happen. SKA is a circus.

I can't even GET upset lol

I already know by next October I'll be LAUGHING and laughing and laughing and I'll even FORGET what I am even laughing about because I'll have deleted that f***ing idiot coach from my mind by then lmao

No need to fret boys
He's coming to us with a CHIP on his shoulder, what a f***ing joke that coach is he thinks he's actually bringing this kid despair lmao

I feel like they weren't even this petty with michkov. I guess they're upset they spent a lot of money to ensure no other Russian team got a kid this talented and he doesn't want to play for them? Like no shit, which top tier Russian player in the last 30 years didn't jump to the NHL as soon as they thought they would be guaranteed no AHL time?

Even guys who stayed extra years like kaprizov, emelin, panarin, etc did so because they weren't even close to guaranteed spots as teenagers and early 20s.

That dman Vancouver had for a bit is basically the only one who just said I miss my mommy and left.

Aimurzin is the only Russian top 5 scorer who hasn't tried yet and he's only 22, undrafted, and his contract goes til next summer. Guaranteed he tries to get an NHL gig. Galimov was a ten point guy his entire career until this season, watch him try to sign with the ducks.

Like do they think this is actually gonna work and Demidov will extend?

The politics in that league. Wow! Limiting the overtime of your best player because he’s not resigning? Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face!
I can’t wait to hear his opinion on Rory once he leaves.
