Like the opposite approach would have been a good attempt. Play him 21+ mins a game on the 1st line and say "you know you won’t be nearly as important next year for Montreal, you’re better off staying"

If we exclude out of ice issues (drugs, alchool, etc ...) i can't think of one this late into the season.
Out of ice issues like bolting to North America as early as next season, maybe?

Not quite the same thing but NJ fired Julien as head coach in April despite having the 2nd highest points in the league.
Anyways this isn't bad news for us, it's just going to make him love MTL more when he gets here. Hell at this point he might even decide to come over in the summer and do his off season training here.

Not gonna believe it 100% because it's Marco and I don't believe he's connected at all but he's saying they won't let him go early and if SKA gets eliminated early they will put him back in the MHL lol
