I think you miss understand the context. We're talking about a player who's not yet in the NHL.

Just like Bedard was considered generational before the draft.

Demi is generational at the moment

The last time you hyped up a prospect that much, he ended up busting... Stop cursing our players please.

Mesar was about to be a superstar, now because of you, he's a bust. Don't do the same to DemiGoat.

Weird to hold it against him that he got injured for half the season and then still put up the 3rd highest points per game in the league. Either way, "age" here is referring to calendar year which is pretty much the standard for these discussions. But sure, if Demidov comes over next year and wins the Hart, Art Ross, and Lindsay, I'll consider him generational.

And I want that to happen, but it won't.
Not with that attitude!

Mesar literally had 4 pts in his first OHL game, on pace for 278 pts per regular season.

Mesar had 4 pts in his first OHL game,
3 pts in his first game from the following year
3 pts in his first "real" AHL game

Every time with a different coach, if Mesar cant make friends in the locker room... not my fault nor problem.

No one has the right to tell me i over hype players. I criticize every player justly based on what i see. My track record speaks for itself.

Me too thats how i see it, if you got a 1 generational talent you can easily identify and you have 2-3 other players who are consistently close to his production than you gotta include those players in the conversation as well. This seems to be a logical thing to do... but for some reason, some people can't do the math.

Yeah i dont get why people are so negative and restrictive around here.
"stop with the generational talk" or "he'll never be that good"
so stupid and poor spirited

He's got the potential, he's currently a generational talent in the KHL.
Whats wrong talking about it? Whats wrong with dreaming big...
In year 1, mcdavid was PPG and then injured
Year 2 he scored 100 points, art Ross, Ted Lindsay & hart trophy.

We're talking potential here. Do you think if Demidov was in the NHL this year with the Habs that he'd look as good as Mcdavid did in his first pro season?

And do you think Demidov is going to be as dominant next year as Mcdavid was in his 2nd pro year when he won all those awards?

A lot of posters who have barely watched Demidov have strong opinions on whether he will peak as a star player, a franchise player, or a generational player.

At the very least your opinions are your own derived from your own watching rather than being a repetition of consensus.

Please keep watching and keep posting.

But if I can make suggestion, when people attack you and you get defensive you seem to rely more on stats based arguments, whereas when you're just doing your thing what you do is you describe what you see on the ice.

Your facts:

Demidov might be better than McDavid

Lemieux is the 8th best player of all time

Richard is the best player of all time but not close to the best player of all time

I absolutely did not say he is a generational talent either

Honestly not even sure what you’re trying to say
Truly embarrassing takes

Poehling scored a hat trick in his first game, he was on pace for 246 goals, in the NHL, we should have traded him for McDavid+, but maybe that was not enough...

I came onto this thread, I saw a raptors pic. Left to check if I pressed the wrong link to Ivan's thread. Then realized the raptors picture is still there. So decided to post and say "what are you guys smoking right now"

Well,

Managed to sleep on th train just far enough to miss my stop. My wife (who was waiting for me) is pissed and told me to call an Uber - which I’m in right now - and so I did.

But it’s all good ‘cause Canada won.

Too bad Demidov isn’t Canadian. But someone can teach him who Trent Reznor is.

That’s all I have to say about that.

Mesar must be trying to win The Brian Savage Award.....
The kid has talent, but the other thing he has is killing him.............Entitlement.
He has shown he is not willing to put in the work........looking like a bad pick.
Let's hope the kid wakes up soon, and plays like a pro, and puts in the work.

Back to Demidov............the kid has some serious game boys, he is the real deal!!

Demi not on the PP.

This is point leader on your team and you don’t put him on the PP!?!?

Brilliant coaching right there.
