Ivan Demidov 1st career goal

Hutson still hasn't proven anyone wrong? Like full credit to his point totals but having watched a lot of Habs games down the stretch especially, Habs fans hold a massive blind spot to Hutsons downsides. With the puck on his stick he is great.

He gets beat down low 2-3 times a period. If he is playing 20 minutes a night for you, he is going to get burnt a lot in the playoffs.
Hutson been playing more than 20 since the 4 nations break and has been probably the biggest reason why the Habs were able to win their way into a playoff spot (let's see if they can hold onto it...)

I invite you to watch some Habs games. After the usual Leafs choke in the first round you should have plenty of time to reconsider your bad take.

He's responsible for far more offense than he gives up defensively, and he's been excellent defensively since the 4 Nations break (although seems to be fatigued lately which is understandable with this weird-ass schedule Montreal has had)

Brother there is no way you're serious with this. He has already far surpassed expectations this year. He's proven just about everyone wrong including Alot of Habs fans (myself included). People are just pushing the goal posts further and further which is to be expected with a player as good as Hutson

Anyways back to Demidov - this guy is pure magic. I would be so mad at myself if I was Kyle Davidson

I said it before and I'll say it again: this guy is a mix of Kaprizov and Kucherov. The way I see it he has the potential to be a similar star with a smilar skillset as MacKinnon.

It's unbelievable that him and Hutson ended up in the same team because this basically seems like a Makar + MacKinnon situation 2.0.

And no I'm not a Habs fan. But you gotta admit if people tell you he was better than Kaprizov was at the same age + the debut we saw last night then it's pretty reasonable to assume he has the potential to reach MacKinnon level.

I highly doubt this and I am a Habs fan. I think Makar and MacKinnon are better than Hutson, Demidov and it's ok. Hutson game is more comparable to Quinn Hughes and Demidov is more like Kaprisov. Both have elite skillset but lack the goal scoring threats of MacKinnon or Makar. That being said, Demidov is still learning and improving and he has a decent shot so maybe he could eventually become a better goal scorer but I prefer staying conservative in that regard. I see a guy (Demidov) with 30/40 goals + 60/70 assists at his peak

Reminds me of Kovy after just one game of watching him.

Both offensively and defensively

I think it’s more the effort that’s concerning. No problem rushing up the ice for scoring opportunities (even cherry picking a few times), but the second you ask him to backcheck? Nah, controller disconnected.
What's concerning is you trolling every Hab thread. You sound kind of unhinged and stalker'ish.

Ofcource Makar and MacKinnon are better. MacK has played 12 regular seasons in the NHL and Makar 6. So they clearly have the experience advantange. Which means we are comparing two rookies to two experienced players in their prime.

I didn't see MacKinnon and Makar during their rookie years but I'd say that's a more reasonable comparison. So I'm just going to look at stats:

  • Makar's rookie year: 0.87 ppg turned into 1,08 career ppg
  • Hutson's rookie year: 0.8 ppg

  • MacKinnon's rookie year: 0.76 ppg turned into 1,16 career ppg
  • Demidovs's first period: 2 ppg (lol jk, ofcourse you can't compare this to a season)

  • Kaprizov's rookie year: 0.92 ppg turned into 1.21 career ppg

MacKinnon won the Calder for his rookie performance but point production-wise he was far below his current level. Same with Kaprizov who also won Calder.

Kaprizov has had better point production during his rookie year and during his entire career than MacKinnon. He has done it without players like Makar and Rantanen.

So if you say Demidov is closer to Kaprizov, which I agree with, then I'd still say he has alot of potential for reaching MacKinnon level. To me Demidov seems a bit better than Kaprizov + he has Hutson so I don't know its a bit hard to not hype him up.
