it's concerning rotenburg benched him nonstop all season but he still is lazy to backcheck, even when the playoffs spot is on the line. on the oher hand, he looked better in creating high-scoring chances than anyone on both teams tonight

I don't know what to think. Having this type of backcheck in your first nhl game with a play-off on the line is very concerning.

And when the Habs tied the game late in the third everyone on the bench was full of excitement except for Demidov.

Otherwise a stunning game offensively. I cant deny the talent.

That was bad. No doubt about it. Brain fart or indicative of future commitment will only be fleshed out in the future. Based on the energy level he gave otherwise and all things I have seen of him in the media (his humility)....it was probably a brain fart. That will be coached out of him very fast in the NHL. We have all seen the Ovechkin disconnected controller and he turned out pretty good.

I don't know how anyone can be anything but impressed by his debut last night. Kid created so many great opportunities. Strong on the puck, deceptive. You can just tell he processes the game faster than everyone else.

Once he gets a bit faster and improves his conditioning he's gonna be an absolute handful.

He was probably still a bit jet lagged. I too thought he was gassed quite a few times during the games and was late to change a few times as well.

That 4 on 4 shift + PP he stayed on seemed to have really gassed him and its on the next play that he didn’t have anything in the tank left to backcheck

Reviewing hutsons thread from earlier this year’s was incredible, you can tell it was pure salt and jealousy right from the beginning. And a tiny bit of hope that they were right, a habs player isn’t a superstar.

Hutson still hasn't proven anyone wrong? Like full credit to his point totals but having watched a lot of Habs games down the stretch especially, Habs fans hold a massive blind spot to Hutsons downsides. With the puck on his stick he is great.

He gets beat down low 2-3 times a period. If he is playing 20 minutes a night for you, he is going to get burnt a lot in the playoffs.
