I said it before the playoffs started and I’ll say it again.

He’s going to San Jose. He will be perfect for the young guys

Barbashev has been playing LW with the Knights on the 1st line with Eichel and Marchessault.

Vegas might resign Barbashev if they can make the money work.

Regardless of his playoff point output. He was fantastic for the Blues in any role he was asked to play. Probably a 40-50 point player who can play pretty much any brand of hockey.

He’ll get a decent chunk of change. Before this playoff run I figured he’d get something similar to Trevor Moore’s contract. He may be getting somewhere around 5x5 now.

I wanted him when we were making the trade with the Blues. I thought he'd be a great fit on the wing for our top 6 if he was able to play on the RW. Unfortunately now we don't have the space. There's too many players to sign and something has to give.

Rangers drafted his brother this past draft. He will be pro ready after next season.. Would be a cool story if they played together.

27 year old center. UFA.

Has been pretty solid for the Knights in the play offs.

Who will sign him and for how much ?
He’s going to be one of the few UFAs with his choice of where to sign. He will get offers from all different types of teams, because he’s the plug and play type, and he’s hard to play against. Very underrated player by most fans.

Ottawa, Buffalo and Detroit should be 3 of those teams after him. That division is going to be big and fast for the foreseeable future and teams will need players who are hard to play against. He’s young enough where he’s worth a 5 year deal with any of those 3.

He’s a really good 2nd line winger by trade, who can play up and down the lineup at any forward spot. He’s the Andrew Copp of this year’s free agent pool, with more finishing ability, and a little stronger on his skates. Like Copp in many ways though, you scream at him to shoot more but he’s 27 now. That’s not going to change.

He’s going to get 5 years easy. Probably around $5.5-$6 million per. I’m sure Vegas will try keeping him somehow, but it’s going to be really tight. He fits in so well with Cassidy’s system though, so they will try doing something to keep him..

Really good hockey player, and one of the best deadline acquisitions.

This is my favorite part about him for Vegas. You can plug him in on any line and he'll do an effective job. He's like Stephenson 2.0 with less consistent offensive production. No question he was a huge add for this Vegas team.

I feel with Alvin stating a 3C was a priority and the close relationship with Milstein, I think Vancouver goes hard after him. From Barbishev's pov, he gets to play with several fellow countymen which given the times might be a draw, especially if he's got a family.
He also likely gets a boost playing behind two C's that are capable of 90+ points.

From a nucks pov, they are the 5th youngest team that needs to add more solid vets to fill out the core since as of next summer the only two players signed over 30 are OEL and JT. The fact that he plays all 3 forward spots is a plus since he can move around if/when one of Raty, or Linus Karlsson can stick at C.

Contract wise you gotta figure with the cap going up and shitty UFA centre crop, 5+ over 6 years?

If so from a nucks POV our Centre depth goes from EP, JT, Horvat, to EP, JT, Barbishev, while saving money and term over Horvat, while adding, Beauvillier, Hronek and Raty, minus whatever it costs to move Myers to create cap space.

Thought he would be 4.75 x 4-6. With his playoffs seeing it closer to 5.75 x 6. Which whoever gives it is going to regret immediately.
With the cap hitting 90 sooner that later and how versatile and the style he plays, why would a team regret it? I mean these playoffs have once again shown how valuable guys like him are.
