Tonite (today for me, considering it's 9:20am here in Italy) it's tough. We were just a few minutes away from...and then **** happened. It's frustrating, but remember, it's not over.

Honestly, I wanted to stay away from the board because I knew that I would have found lots of negativity, but I did it...and I have something to say to all of you who are complaining about this and that player, who are already thinking about next season, who are disappointed by our team.

Are you disappointed???
Are you pissed off with Quick, Richards, Brown???
Oh, really?

I have a question for you, pissed off fake fans: do you consider yourself a true die hard Kings fan? It's easy to be a fan when your team is winning, when it's easy watching. But 2012 was 2012, and it's not gonna happen again like that.

I've been a season ticket holder for AC Milan for over 20 years, from 8 to 30. And even if now I feel myself much more a Kings fan than a Milan fan, in those years I was bleeding black and red. Since I was 15 years old, I started following the team on the road as well, and when you hit the road in Italy, or in Europe, you know that you might find yourself in trouble more often than not. And no, I'm not speaking about something like Philadelphia and its fans. I'm speaking about traveling in special trains guarded (or protected) by cops, arrive at the station and seeing around fans of the other team waiting for you, and not for a hug, neither a kiss. Walking to the stadium, surrounded by two rows of policemen, and trying to protect yourself from the stones, the broken bottles that were thrown at us. But it was a brotherhood, they were not going to break us, we were there to fight. Sometimes it happened that the home fans pushed through the policemen and then we had to defend ourselves, fight back, and of course we were outnumbered.

It was part of the game, I didn't like it, I wasn't a violent kid...but I had to be there. I had to be there for my ****ing team, because I wanted, we all wanted, to make them know that we were there. They were not in those ****** stadiums, Rome, Naples, Florence, Verona ALONE. We were there for them, and it doesn't matter if someone sometimes had to come home with a black eye, or even a stab in the ass (it happened). We had to be with our guys. And once we were in the stadium, surrounded by hostile fans, we always sang from the beginning till the end. We wanted to make sure our guys didn't feel alone.

Luckily, in those times we were winning a lot, championships, Champions League, we had some amazing teams. But there were also bad years, bad losses, tough ones. Sometimes the cops kept us in the stadium over 5 hours from the end of the game, because outside the "others" were waiting for us to come out, and we heard them singing "You don't go home tonite". And once we made it back to our cars or to the train, we had a 5-6 hours trip awaiting for us, often in the middle of the night. And a few hours later we had to go to work or school, sometimes straight from the station. I remember we listened to the stories of the old guys, people that went through a lot of road games and tough battles. That taught me how to be a real die hard fan. It doesn't matter if your team win or loose, you just have to keep supporting. You can be mad at them if they don't give everything they have, of course. They have to, they have to play for the jersey they wear, for the history of their franchise. They have to respect our colors and bleed for them as we do.

Now I have to wake up at 4am to watch the Kings. I have to spend money to come to LA, and I love it. People think I'm crazy here, they don't understand why I do this. For me it's just so normal behaving like this.

This post is not about me, it's about us, as fans.
Stop complaining, stop whining, stop crying. Our guys don't need you, they don't need this from you. There's still a game left to play in this series: our guys need to regroup, to find an extra gear, they have to step it up. We have to do the same.

We're going back to Chicago, and damn, I wish I was there on Sunday. It's easy to throw **** at our players sitting in front of a computer screen. Always ask yourself what these guys have done for you...and what have you done for them? Give yourself a honest answer.

We're going back to Chicago and we are not going away quietly.
We're going back to Chicago to win a hockey game.

Excellent post, Albi. I'm on board with you, standing behind them.

All this nervousness and struggle to get there will be worth it when they get the win.

Awesome, I Believe

This is the Hawks, I fully expected a Seven game series. Even when the Kings went up 3-1.

So here it is.

Honestly I didn't feel the Kings would get passed the Sharks down 0-3. So Bonus hockey. Just like in 2012, in January I didn't think the Kings would make the playoff's that year.

So twice my expectations were really low, and twice the Kings have blew them out of the water. I will cheering and screaming at my T.V Sunday .

GO KINGS.

I love your enthusiasm and loyalty, Albi.

I really do. We are all Kings.

But...

...let's look at it analytically. I just don't want to get so down as I did on Wednesday. From an analytical point of view, CHI has last change at home. Q is going to send out the Kane line even if he gets a whiff that Mitchell and Voynov out there.

Just from that standpoint alone, we are in deep trouble. DEEP TROUBLE. I want to be realistic about things...this is not 2012, when Mitchell and Greene were rocks defensively. Both have now crumbled with age and injuries, and they are turnover machines. (In that respect, DocWest will never again go without a blueberry turnover. He just has to show up at Greene's door.)

The only guy I have confidence in is Doughty. Well, and maybe Carter. The first line is not showing up, other than Brown, who has amazed me with his energy the last three games.

Kane has awakened, as I knew he would. He is a monster.

I don't see anything changing for game 7. Do you?

You know how we say in Europe? If you don't believe in your team, you don't deserve anything.

At least give them time to lose game 7 and then rant, but until then believe in them. Kings showed you many times in last few years that they don't give a s.... on odds and they are the best when nobody believe in them anymore...

Ron, how many times have I said that the Kings need to crush Kane and Shaw? Every time Kane has the puck someone should torpedo him; get him off his game!

The good:

Justin Williams is on our team, I expect him to play a heck of game to keep his game 7 winning streak going

Crawford is beatable

Our team won the first 2 series on the road against teams that rarely lose at home.

The bad:

2 games in a row the Kings had the lead in the 3rd period and blew it. I guess Regehr's absence is being felt right now. Those extra minutes to Mitchell, Greene and Voynov are hurting the team.

Quick doesn't play very well against the Hawks

Kane is on fire.

How often do the Kings take the 1st penalty and get scored on? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they always the first team to get penalized and that includes last year's playoff run as well.

Hey...there aren't many here that think Sunday is a guaranteed loss. The issue here is they pissed away numerous opportunities to go to the Cup Finals, something this franchise has only done twice in over forty years.

I was here before any of the current Kings players were on this team and I'll be here after they've all retired and moved on. When they play well, they receive praise and when they play poorly, they will get scrutinized. That is the nature of the beast so I take offense at the "fake fan" commentary. As a long-time season seat holder and someone who has traveled on numerous occasions to watch this team, I know what I've "given them" and I know that it gives me the right to criticize when they crap the bed. As someone who paid for a decade of bed crapping, it doesn't mean I'm walking away from the team, am a "fake fan" or don't believe they can win on Sunday.

Love your passion as it is evident in your post. Love the dedication, really do. I just don't like when criticism or negativity is equated to not being a real fan.

We are so upset because we DO care that much.

They already did that and he we were with a post of beating them. No team has dominated the other team. That's why we were in a game 7. If anything it's the Kings that have come close to domination at times.

Game 7 will come down to what they always come down to. A lucky bounce or one mistake.

Game 7 is different animal then any other elimination game. Everything gets thrown out the window. But, for you stat lovers here is one for you. The Hawks in the past 3 years are 1-1 in Game 7's. The Kings are 3-0.

First off, nice post Albi.
Okay, I'm over the dissapointment and the sting of game 6. After they went up 3-2 in the 3rd I thought that was the game. Than when Chicago tied it, I expected another O.T. game. When Kane got the go ahead goal, I was throwing ****. To go from such a high to such a low in a matter of minutes really sucked.
The thing that sets me at ease, is the Kings are filled with players that are game 7 money players. Williams, Carter, Richards, Quick, Doughty, etc. These guys have been there and proven their worth when it comes to game 7's. Win or lose, I'm proud to say I'm a Kings fan. No team in the NHL has played more games in the last 3 years than our Kings. Three straight Western Conference finals, with one of those being a Cup win? What Kings fan can say they would live to see that happen? I'm guessing nobody. I sure can say I never thought I would see it.
Us as fans need to support the team we love and cheer for. We need to put the trust into every single player on that roster. The Kings have won a game in Chicago already, so we know it's not an impossible feat. Now it's time to put this thing to bed. We all know, the Kings never do things the easy way. They always do it the hard way and play their best when their backs are against the wall. Right now, their backs are against the wall. 777, isn't that a lucky number?

Kings will bring more to the table in game 7, being that it's finally an elimination game for them. I have no doubt that the effort will be there. But Chicago has already been in that mode for 2 games now and will have home ice, etc. The first goal will be huge. I'm not throwing in the towel but I am tense.

Haha!

The Whole Foods in MB stopped selling blueberry turnovers before Game 4. I had to get a cherry one and stuffed it with blueberries and it worked. For Game 5 I did the same thing, but my cat (who was born in Chicago) licked it for a minute. I believe that nullified it's powers and gave the luck to the Hawks. I didn't eat anything for Game 6 since the turnovers make me want to throw up and I figured their luck had run out. I felt Dae-su Oh in Oldboy eating the dumplings.

However the blueberry ones were back in stock today, so I picked one up and will force myself to eat it tomorrow. I feel bat**** crazy doing this, but the Kings are the closest thing I have to religion. So I've got to go all out for Game 7.

I feel so crazy, lol.

We're going to play a hockey game In June kings fans. It's been a great season. Hoping for another game 7 victory, but if not I will always love my kings. We're playing in friggin June! Let's try not to act so spoiled, after all only one team each years gets to kiss the cup.

And this team will be there or close to there for at least next five years. And will go till the end at least two times in this period. This is how I see it. Regardless of the outcome of game 7 tommorow...
