GDT: Its Snuggy Season 7PM

Calgary checking the scoreboard right now
The Blues just snagged possession of the 1st wild card spot!

Great comeback win. Question for anyone: would you play Snuggerud on Thursday and do you think Montgomery will? Personally I'd say yes, but I'm not 100% sure Montgomery will. He had some flashes in this game but it was also clear he was getting outmuscled consistently. I think he could improve enough in our last couple regular season games to be a valuable option in the playoffs though.

Cant think of a better trade than the Fowler in season by the Blues
Reading this post made me think of the Weight for McDonald trade.

It made me look it up, and weirdly enough, that trade happened on December 14, 2007 with the Ducks.

December 14th is the day we acquired Fowler from them.

Maybe we need to keep making trades with them on that day…

No. Joseph was playing well and a good PKer, zero reason to sit him again for a guy who 100% is not NHL playoff push ready.

I would, but I’m also not really sure what Montgomery will do. I thought Snuggy’s debut went really well. He got better as the game went on and created some chances.

To Be Honest Dvorsky seemed to show less nerves in his first game yet we haven’t seen him since. I think Snuggy get some more practice time like Dvorsky before we see him again.

I didn’t see the first but I thought he looked really solid. Made some slick passes. Tracked pucks. Had literally the only rush chance in the 3rd on right wing. And his skating is noticeably better that it was earlier in his collegiate career. Monty values skill and possession versus other coaches so it won’t be surprise me if continues to see action.

If there's a game to slot Snuggles AND Dvorsky in; it's the Pittsburgh game.
I would do it, but Monty might want to send the team a message after tonight's "performance".

I thought Snuggerud played well considering things, but he was getting out-muscled a bit. Not sure if it was because of a particular defenseman, but I thought I heard Edstrom's name a bit when Snuggerud was on the ice.

I know I'd rather have Snuggy on the ice than Joseph, despite the latter improving as he plays more games. We need his speed and skilled shooting. And we need him to get as much NHL experience as possible before The Playoffs, so he can play more effectively in those even more important games.
