Actually knowing carlyle, i would not be AT ALL surprised if somehow mclaren plays on the top line with kessel. If kessel becomes a non-factor say...in the first 2 games and chara is completely shutting him down and giving him extra shots and crosschecks, making phil kessel frustrated.

Carlyle puts mclaren in there to get under Chara's skin, and give him a couple of hard hits and crosschecks, while opening a little space up for Kessel. We all know chara is not going to fight so dont start with "WHY WOULD CHARA FIGHT A 4TH LINE GOON?" thing.

I can see it now....Bob cole callin the game and randomly says "Wait a minute now folks....is that MCLAREN playing with kessel?? Why yes sir it is!"

Lmaoo it would be funny

Komarov, Lupul, Mclaren, Orr, Fraser, Franson, Kulemin, Naz, Bozie, and Dion leading the way, we all have to lay the body on their key players and wear them down.

We are the young upstarts, Bruins the grizzled wily vets. I really believe the investment of hitting Chara will pay off as we go deeper in the playoffs.

Leafs in the Quinn years used to lose to the Sens in regular season, but always won in the playoffs. I see some of this with the Bruins, I think this team has matured this year, Kessel is better and more mature, hopefully he is over whatever Boston had over him. I think he's going to break out this series against the B's. We will see.

If Carlyle does indeed go with this, Healy will soil his shorts. I can hear the insults now....

The only problem I have with the eastern conference right now is the Habs/Sens series. I just can't bring myself to cheer for either team. It makes you feel so dirty. One on hand, if the Habs win, you won't hear the end of it from their useless fans. Then again, if the Sens win, you won't hear the end of it from their useless fans. It's a no-win situation really.

All you can hope for it that by the end of 7 games they are sore from diving and get swept 2nd round.

This series will be the ultimate test for Kessel in a Leafs uniform. I've been critical of Kessel and the trade that brought him to Toronto since it happened. Here's his chance to prove the doubters wrong.

Oh okay we don't play in Toronto then? Great point.

Do I really need to point out what home ice advantage means? It means better team in regular season gets more home games than the other. Home ice advantage also includes the last change as well as an advantage in face-off dot as visitor guy puts his stick first.

Sad that I had to expand on this.

And Bozak won more than any Bruin, "killed" is extreme.

We rely heavily on Bozak to take a huge majority of our draws. Do you see the problem with basing your argument on quantity?

Krejci, Bergeron, Kelly and Peverly all have a much better faceoff winning percentage.

Time for Grabo to step it up and do something. The Bruins certainly won't be keying on him.

Randy Carlyle has been masterful with the line up this year, going to be interesting who he decides to get in. Needless to say Orr and Mclaren are going to be in for body work, you need all 24 players on the roster to win, the grinders are just as valuable but aren't noticed, we need to wear down Bergeron and Chara, they are the keys to Boston, beat them, lean on them and you stand a good chance to win this series.

Leafs should do what they did a long time ago in a playoffs series against a heavily favoured Hawks team with Chelios and Suter. Just hit Chara and co. every chance. Even those type of guys have to eventually break down

Minimizing turnovers against the B's is huge; if the Leafs can do that, they have a chance.

Either way, this one should be a battle.
