Pre-Game Talk: It's Not Working

I don’t understand after they traded McLeod (or if they were planning on it), why they didn’t sign a 4C to a league minimum deal. Maybe they thought Ryan was that guy (who has been more of a winger)but it was foolish if they did.

It’s not that big of a deal but I feel like it’s something that haven’t addressed in years. The team also doesn’t use the AHL team worth a damn so you can’t really say they were planning on bringing guys up.

Team just doesn’t like to fill holes in the offseason even the ones that are the easiest to fill.
 
I know no one wants to hear about depth players at the deadline, but with the way the team is playing, it feels like we need a Glencross type trade. Someone to bring some juice into the game when everyone is kind of slumping and squeezing their sticks.

I said it at the start of the year when the team was struggling, but you can't have six guys in the bottom six who are just there, especially when the PK is bad too. You don't notice Janmark, Brown, Ryan, Henrique, Kapanen 90% of the time. The team figured it out and started winning games, but I still think it's an issue. I think reworking the bottom six at the deadline should be in the cards.
 
Knoblauch continues his baffling decisions. Sitting one of the only forwards with a pulse from last game. Taking a guy from press box to top 6 and putting a guy who isn’t a center as center cause reasons.

This is Jay Woodcroft 2.0 but mid season instead of the start.

Except Janmark is not close to a third liner this year, neither is brown. Our 3rd line is a 4th line

It's clear this team is flawed and better for it to be blatantly obvious now rather than post-deadline. Seeing what happens when we lose Nurse (or if we lost one of Ek/Bouch) should be eye opening for the exec.

I am pretty positive about this team, and have been checked out of the last three games because they've all already been a mess by the time I was free to watch - probably not tuning in tonight either.

They'll turn it around, and they aren't even that far off of VGK at this point.

Brown and Janmark's play 5v5 is starting to get to the point where it's so bad that its washing out any benefit they provide on the PK.

We all get all over McDavid and others for passing off shooting looks, but Connor Brown of all people might be the worst for it. He's never seen a shooting look he doesn't like throwing away to the corner instead. Plays an East/West game with the puck, which is mind numbing.
