A couple losses in a row does real damage in these standings because many of these teams in that wildcard battle are on a run.

Actually, I'd say Tampa has also been dragged into this mud because they currently hold a divisional seed by one point. That's exhibit A of what happens when you lose 2 regulation games in a row.

Yeah the only "safe" teams in the East are Washington, Toronto, Carolina, Florida, and New Jersey. 7 other teams are within 3 points of each other, and Tampa despite having games in hand is only one point up on all of Ottawa, Montreal, and Boston for the last Atlantic Divisional slot.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that the habs are going to finish first in the East
Atlantic division leader on pace for a 105 point season.

Just weak, weak top teams of Atlantic so far this season. Wide open for many teams to dominate.
