How was I to know that?

Is winning three straight in separate series easier than in one series?

I would say yes...especially when down 3-1...ya know many times in that situation morale is low and teams tend to crumble under the pressure

Judging from what I have seen earlier I didn't think this team had the resiliency to push to a game 7...I thought at most maybe game 6...I hope they pull off the entire upset

These 2 games were the first two this season that I thought they looked PROUD to be New York Rangers.

Can't begin to say how huge that is.

I couldn't find it anywhere and I was curious so I did the math. Over five game 7s (2009 loss against the Caps, 2012 win against Sens, win against Caps, 2013 win against Caps, 2014 win against Flyers) for Henrik Lundqvist:

4-1 record, 131/136 saves, .963 sv%, 1.00 GAA, 1 SO.

I was so upset after game 4 that I lost my marbles a bit. About as bad as I've ever seen a Rangers play off team perform. Bad as that was what we have seen the last two games and especially today was truly special.

For as hard as I've been on Nash he was pretty good tonight. Made one bad mistake but otherwise played a physical and engaged game.

I truly believe the Rangers have been the better team in this series. If you take the ********* schedule into consideration, they may even qualify as a lot better.

That being said, they can't afford to chase the game on Tuesday. Most of those famous 3-1 recoveries happen early in the playoffs. This will be difficult. It could be monumental.

If you thought our board was depressing after game 5, just take a look at the Pens' postgame thread. I guess we're not the only ones with the "sky is falling" complex.

Crosby to Dallas for Seguin and Benn. Malkin to St. Louis for Backes and Tarasenko. Letang and Neal to Montreal for Subban and Gallagher. Scuderi for pucks. Buy out Fleury. Fire the entire front office.

Two things.

1.) people have a tendency to forget that Nash has really really excelled in a defensive role at the Olympics. Difference is that those teams rely on other players to score. His defensive ability is usually very underrated.

2.) players don't get paid in the playoffs. I couldn't give a damn about his cap hit right now. What I do care about is untapped potential.

I'm not in the lynch mob for Nash, but regardless of whether or not players are technically paid for the play-offs or not, they are still eating up cap space.

No one's hard on Nash because of the money he's making. It's because the money he's making is such a large part of what the team's allowed to spend. If there were no cap, they could pay him 50 million a year to not score a single goal, and it wouldn't matter to most people, because they could also pay someone who actually scored.

I want to talk about Henrik being such a choker and never elevating his game come playoff time ;)

Marty, wow. That was a moment. You're the guy this team play for and they're playing amazing.

Dom Moore and Brian Boyle, top notch defensive games and you've also gotten under the skin of Crosby. Loving it.

No matter how it ends now, I'll be proud of these two games.

Nash's defensive game for the most part has been fine. He ****ed up on Sutter's shorthanded goal in game 4. The thing is--he's supposed to be the goal scorer and he's not as engaged in going to the net as the rest of the forwards on his team. He's still shooting from too far out and is not using his large body to get to the net.

Brassard's been great in this series 4 goals and an assist. Zucc and Pouliot 1 goal 3 assists each. Hagelin 2 goals and an assist. Kreider's been excellent after his first game. Those are the forwards who have been carrying the play for us. Boyle and Dominic Moore as well. Moore has been pestering the **** out of Crosby all series long. Stepan had his best game of the series tonight. Same with St. Louis.

The thing is, Nash is going to the net a lot in the POs. But he is the first guy there and he is just taken care of. A bunch of times per game there is a rebound and Nash is wrestled to the ice.

Nash should have finnished more and he can play better. But his line played really well for the first 5 agains Pittsburgh and Nash was a huge part of them pwning the matchup against Giroux, after that, Nash and Steps line just has not functioned well at all. It didn't function well in the regular season. They get the toughest matchups.

You know, you need to be able to achieve a few things to score most of the goals scored in this league. Step-Nash's UNIT isn't able to achive them. They don't get scrambles infront of the net where players are lost by the Ds. They don't get the rushes. They don't get any kind of center plays from Step, there has been a long time you saw Step set someone up.

Many like to trash Nash for no caring or sucking tremendously. In this case, I just don't agree with that. I think he is working hard and I think he is able to do a lot of valuble things on the ice, but in the current environment he is in he is just too easy to handle.

And like with all slumps the numbers starts to stick out. But there is a reason for the problems.

Dom Moore is a really good hockey player. We are very fortunate to have him on a 4th line. Best 4th line C we have had since MacT.

Puh... this series is such a nailbiter...

Great win. However.. it's happend many times now the past games.. too many breakaways allowed.

The pens board is HILARIOUS. Found this interesting.

When I left the Penguins locker room, two people remained: No. 87 and No. 66.

I am very impressed with the Rangers to even force a game 7. Usually the Ranger teams would have mailed in the game 5 performance but these guys didn't. Its the first time since 1939 that the Rangers have forced a game 7 being down 3-1.

Kreider is having trouble receiving the pass. He can shoot the puck and make a pass. Receiving the pass is still an issue. Is it timing? Is the hand still an issue? Before he missed on the opportunity to make it 3-0,he destroyed a Penguin player in the Rangers end. He was aggressive in the first period and then took the two penalties which made him reign it in. Just be aggressive.

That Crosby guy. He starts stuff and skates away. He hides behind the officials. Letang and Kunitz have to get involved to protect Crosby after he started the entire fracas.

He seemed to receive the sexy MSL pass well. Just bad luck probably. If he can shoot i don't see why he can't receive passes.

He also didn't deserve the penalty in our end when he "destroyed" the pen next to lundqvist. A blatant dive.

Eh, that's going to get called more often than not. I'm not surprised.

His goal being taken away from him thanks to MAF's oscar-winning dive I'm ****ing mad about, though.

Actually, It was called because the refs told the coaches before the game, No BS in front of the goalies or people get called. But of course they didn't include the diving part in there.
