Take Hertl's 4 goal game away against Biron and he's not even in the convo.

Monahan on the other hand has played great the games I've seen. Going to be a good player.

yea he is a good young player so far this season... he is on my team in NHL 14... just traded for him..

I love the way Kreider has been playing. I hope he keeps it up because it has been a missing element from this team for a long long time. (Playing in front of opposing net with authority)

That said, my fear is that sooner or later some EC rival defenseman or vcenter will get frustrated with him and take him out with a head shot. I hope he is ready for that.

Hopefully that wont happen. i mean we already lost nash to a headshot so thats would suck.

Monahan's going to be a stud.

There are so many good rookies this season, that it'll be hard for Kreider to win the Calder.

I'm hoping he can keep it up, as it is a small sample size.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

He had 2 points in 19 AHL games before he got to the NHL last season.
He was cut by AV earlier this season.

At what point is his performance going to be on him?

Who did he play with and what shape was he in ? More important how was his confidence at the time considering his age. I have a pretty good idea on what my player evaluation skills are and call me crazy I beat your assessments on players everyday of the week except for Sundays because I am hungover.

Stop with the ****ing apologist ****. He didn't deserve TOI, confidence or not. He was making BAD decisions. It MAY be turning now for better. He's earning TOI now. Deserves to play so far.

You come on here to tell us you know more about players that we pay attention to, and some quite closely? Please.

Regardless of what happened last year, Kreider has clearly made massive improvements and it seems as though he's here to stay (hopefully). I love his game and what he's bringing to this team.

He played with players who were producing a lot more than he was.

I don't know what kind of shape he was in.

His confidence was poor, I'm sure. Is that a reason to play him lots. Should we be scouring the league and assembling a lineup full of low-confidence players?

You're crazy.

Today is Sunday, so....

Kreider has scored 4.46 P/60 5v5 with a 7.4% on-ice shooting percentage. That's insane, a 7.4% almost insinuates that his scoring should regress upwards. That's how well he has been playing since his call-up.

Oh and 4.46 P/60 is Crosby-level of scoring for context.

I've been hard on him in the past, but boy is he playing lights out at the moment!

Does that mean he could be at least Davy Keon at minimum with Pavel Bure upside?

Saw this clip, interesting. Appearently Kreider speaks 5 different languages :amazed:. Does anyone know which languages he speaks?

English
Russian
German(german surname?)
Spanish (saw 1 kristo tweet about him watching a spanish movie)
And then?

Those or my guesses, lol.

Maybe French as well?

What New England Hockey said.

Kreider has been a important factor to the teams success, he is not going anywhere

He can still be sent down without waivers (for another 54 games I think), but it isn't likely. We have no idea when Nash will be back and J.T. Miller is much more likely to be sent down than Kreider. And Pyatt just went out with what looks like a concussion too. No telling when he will be back either. Kreider is safe.

Once he becomes waiver eligible, there's no way they are sending him down unless it's on a conditioning assignment.

It would be past the point of absurd for Kreider to be sent down just so a guy like Pyatt could stay in the lineup.

All Chris has to do is to continue to play the way he has been playing. Not always be ahead of the play--backcheck responsibly--when someone on his team has the puck head straight for the net--go in direct north south lines. He's turned into an effective forechecker that way--his collisions with the opposition are up--his hits are harder. More scrums. Those are good things. He is big, fast and strong--this works to his advantage. When you're hitting and getting hit you depend more and more on instinct and spend less time over thinking.

Wow, he obviously doesn't want to be a career Ranger. If he did, he would've taken Swedish...

TRADE!!!

Lmao, amen my fellow swede!

Nah, but all jokes aside. If it's true that he speaks 5 languages I'm impressed and at the same time curious about which languages he masters.

Speaking 5 languages and being fluent in all 5 is a different story. I took 5 years of spanish, 2 years of french and 1 year of german and can "speak" in all those languages to a varying degree, but that was all 25 years ago and I've forgotten more than I remember. Kreider's schooling is a little fresher in his mind, I'd wager ;)
