Going to watch the replay now and see if I still have the same opinions as I did watching it live.

Pls don’t tell me the score, lol

For the people who think Nylander should be more physical, how did you like Tampa's first goal? (He's much better when he's just hard on the puck and makes the other team take the penalty, like in OT.)

For the people who think Nylander should try to cover for Tavares, how did you like the second goal, scored by the man Willy left to go after the man JT lost?

Tavares lost the puck leading directly to Hagel's penalty shot (fortunately, I think I could have done better on the PS).

I think the best thing you can say about Tavares tonight was that Tampa didn't score while he was in the penalty box.

No chance by Samsonov on a couple, but he made some excellent saves to keep us in.

Great defensive play by Knies!

Nylander with Tavares just doesn't work, and this game was just one more example. As soon as Willy is away from JT he sets up the second, third, and fifth (winning) goals.

The PP looks much better with Willy on it - scored two, including the winner.

Anyone else notice that Willy took a stick in the face just before the pass to Gio?

Willy scored the winning goal in game 2, set up the tying goal in game 3, and assisted on three of the last four goals (including the winner) in game 4: who gives a flying F if he doesn't smear someone into the boards?

Can't remember a more awesome win right now. Granted I am trending to the old side of a hockey message board. But really, wow. Thats one for the stories, but only if it ends with getting through. One more.

My liver despite MVP levels of effort requests a G5 win.

I just want to chime in and say, Matthew Knies was not overhyped. This guy is going to be a star.
Knies could be a 30 goal 60 point guy but doubt he becomes a star. His numbers this year in College as a 2nd year 20 year old don't suggest star potential.

When was the last time the Leafs won a playoff game they trailed by 3 goals in?

There must be a few, but I believe it was a long time ago. 1993?

When was the last time the comeback was entirely 3rd period? (If we assume 2020 wasn't real playoffs)

Has it ever happened?

Maybe the only other time it happened was back when Burns was coach (I think he was coach) and they played Detroit, in that series where the small Russian winger scored the game 7 overtime goal.

I think in one of those game in that series the Leafs came back from a 3 goal deficit to win a game.

I would consider that production to be a star especially with the other aspects he will bring, but everyone has their own definition.

Watching it the second time, that 2nd goal was filled with a lot of underrated plays.
1. TJ made a great reverse pass
2. Willie attacking the zone, driving to the net which drawer both Dmen including Hedman to close him out.
3. But then Willie did a quick step to the right and drop pass to MM, while he continued to drift right bringing and blocking the Dmen to effectively take him out of the play.
4. Thus creating a mini 2 V 1 with AM charging down LW.
5. Seeing that Hedman chose to take AM but he is already a step or two too late bc Willie previously drew him in.
6. Vas saw Hedman taking AM thus he played MM to shoot. Which is the right call for both Hedman and Vas bc AM got the better shot.
7. MM still passed to AM and AM got the puck, and shoot and score with both Hedman and Vas reacting too late.

For sure! He hasn't played 10 NHL games yet, but he's keeping up with the best of Tampa Bay in the playoffs. Knies is just soaking up experience. Maybe he's destined for greatness as soon as this year

Not quite the same but:

In 1942 Toronto was down 3 games to none and trailing 2-0 in game four of the finals. They won the Cup.

They remain the only team to come back from down 3 games to none in the finals.
