Honestly, I suspect he misread 57 as 51, with the press box being far off the ice and us having a font that John apparently hates because it's hard to read.

It’s no doubt what happened, but with the benefit of multiple replays, a guy at ice level that said the words “TVR’s pass” in direct response to one of Tripp’s questions, and a truck full of people whose job it is to feed Tripp information, it’s a pretty brutal miss and it’s only like 20% Tripp’s fault.

I mean I do that sometimes too but usually I can notice which side the player is shooting from which can really help identifying the player.

But I watch the Canes so much I can usually tell who the player is by how they skate.
