Surprisingly harsh here tonight. I liked what I saw from the kids tonight.
Ho-Sang and Barzal are elite offensive prospects with great confidence. They are junior players. Of course they don't know what works or doesn't in the NHL. They will learn and adjust.
I thought Dal Colle looked better than any other time I've seen him. He was skating well, noticeable and pretty strong defensively/positionally - even killed penalties.
Really like Beauvilier. Fast. Great shot. Smart.
No doubt Ho-Sang, Dal Colle need time in the AHL and I believe both Barzal and Beauvilier are still destined for junior if they don't make the NHL.
But these are excellent prospects.
Berube was really strong tonight.
Regardless of how they looked - these are not the Islanders.
Tavares. Ladd. Parenteau. Nelson. Strome. Leddy. Boychuk. Hamonic. Cizikas. Clutterbuck. Chimera.

MDC looks like he does not give a ****...all the time. Not saying he doesn't, his game is just so...nails on chalkboard. hes frustrating because I feel like he just skates around aimlessly and im waiting for him to do something. Btw Idk if I said this after we drafted him but he reminds me of Bellows. Hopefully bellows can actual translate his game to the NHL one day. MDC I think needs to be traded if he has any value.. I do not see this kid making it.

The kids are not ready yet. They have skills but need to slow the game down to the pace they can manage at this level. They also need to play with vet with good two way skills instead with each other until they are NHL ready.
Watched Marner yesterday playing with Bozak and Holland on the leafs and he has learned not to do too much but just enough at the right time. Pretty good hands and smart, but never tried to dash way too much. I think playing with veterans help him to play a calmer and effective game. This is what both Barzal and Ho Sang need to learn to do.
Really like AB's game. Believe that he will be the first one to adjust to the NHL game but Barzal and Ho Sang should have higher ceilings once they are ready.
Like MDC killing penalty and his skating seem to be stronger and a bit faster. He just need to keep working on the one on one battle and learn to get his shot off faster.

Cant happen if they are not in the NHL lol Cant have it both ways. I think Barzal will be fine playing with NHL talent. Ho-sang not far behind.

My point is that I don't think they make the NHL
As much as we love the kids, i still don't see NHL with Barzal probably the closest.
Not sure if a junior age player can play in Europe like Auston Matthews did. I don't think it applies to CHL players though. I don't think even Marner is allowed to play in Europe
I think playing with men would be the right move for some 19 year old

Jack had to give 2 weeks notice at Chipotle before he could join the team.

Dehaan for Eberle
This isn't that far fetched. Dehaan would be significant upgrade for the Oilers who still look very weak on D. Eberle is not Boyes enough of that. Eberle would be serious threat with JT I just don't know if we could handle his salary.
It always astounds me how few games we give the team to get ready for the first game of the season.
I get that you want to give some ice time to the kids, and see who has what types of skills, but you also need to get the full line-up together and playing to allow them to gas themselves up, get the dust off, and get some chemistry -- ESPECIALLY when you have new recruits in the lineup.
Opening night is 9 days away and we need to start icing lineups which mirror what will be at least close to what will appear on the 13th.
