And this is why most of us have said for years that Wang looking at the bottom line and trying to spend as little as possible while putting garbage on the ice doesnt make sense. If you spend a little more, become competitive you will get those fair-weather fans to jump on board, buy ticket and merchandise basically putting more money in your pocket. Alot of merchandise is sold out. In the stores And online. Was speaking with a guy at models who said the jerseys sell out as soon as they come in. Everyone loves a winner.
I definitely have seen more Islander gear around the city.
This team is literally changing the culture with this season, it isn't just winning, it is a massive blood transfusion. I feel the best for the younger fans who have only known the Isles as a losing franchise, this has to feel wonderful.

Gona sound crazy here but I love the fisherman hats. Especially the beanie boychuk wore in the postgame against the Rags on tuesday.
Nope...doesn't sound crazy at all. They seem to have a huge cult following. Look at the prices on eBay for a Jersey..300-600 dollars.

I eBayed my Fisherman jerseys ten years too early. Ugh.
Still have the wave jerseys with the regular Isles crest though.

I don't think the Isles have many bandwagon fans. I think it's more like they were just to embarrassed to show of their "Isles pride" considering how the team has been run the last decade.

yeah, i think many are in this boat. i didn't wear any of my gear in public until our playoff run a few years back. i just didn't want to be bothered by some mouthbreather ranger fan on the subway or in a bar or whatever (i still get some "YOU'RE ROOTING FOR THE WRONG NEW YORK TEAM BRAAAAAAHHH" even with our recent upswing.)

It's more that Isles fans have had zero reason to spend their hard earned money on this team for a very long time, the future was incredibly bleak until about the last year or two.

I helped bought Boychuk and Nelson shirts, I really want to add Hamonic and Halak but can't find them anywhere.
I'm having trouble finding a road pro jersey. My three go-to online outlets are out of stock and not getting anymore this season. One place said they never have to stock many Islanders jerseys and they usually have left overs by the end of the year.

I admit it, I kind of want them to come out with some of the fisherman gear. I.e. Player shirts but with the fisherman style instead. I would get a strome or Leddy version

im glad i bought mine like 3 years ago for $25, i only wish it was a player jersey rather than a blank team jersey.
and i think part of the reason for the huge increase is the availability of new merchandise. the winning has pushed companies to start offering more variety of islanders gear.
i still can't find a fitted hat though. the ones i like, never have my size in stock. (7 5/8)
EPS still customizes Fisherman Jerseys. I believe they use to do them for the team.

That someone....Anyone...Likes the Fisherman gear goes to prove that there's something for everyone. Those uniforms/logo are in the top 10 worst for any sports franchise all time. So embarrassing and yet...Some fans want them to come back.
It's honestly like when two girls go out and one is stunning with a great body, and one of your friends actually finds the overweight one more attractive. In that case there's a human being involved so let's be considerate of her feelings. In the case of the Fisherman...BURN 'EM WITHOUT REMOSE.
