Pre-Game Talk: Isles @ Leafs - 11/19

I'm going up to the ACC with my gf January 7. We have center ice seats in 322 that I got on StubHub for $150 each :shakehead

I'm looking to have an enjoyable time without any BS, so can anyone clue me in as to whether Leafs fans are as bad as Rags and Flyers fans?

I went to two Isles games at the ACC a couple of years back in full Isles gear and had no issues at all. The only two moments that stick out is one leaf fan lifted up the hood of my hoodie to see who's name was on my jersey (Peca) and I was told it was a sweet jersey. The second time was after the game walking back to my car one drunk girl saw my Tavares jersey and yelled "Tavares f'in sucks" to which the guy she was with told her to be quiet because she has no idea what she was talking about.

I was expecting a whole lot worse because I was walking around Toronto all day with the Isles jersey on and was even drinking at Real Sports across from the ACC before the game and I didn't have a single person come up to me or yell anything rude to me at all. The one leaf fan sitting next to me during the second game I went to was asking me a whole lot of questions about the Isles and Bridgeport. So from my past experiences I would say you shouldn't have any issues at all as long as you aren't the one instigating anything!

Grabner will be a healthy scratch tonight according to Staple, hopefully this will wake him up a bit.

BTW, lol'd at the GDT.

I don't think I've ever seen or heard of someone being hassled for opposing teams/jerseys in Toronto. Just not that type of city or culture at all. I sat next to a guy with a Parise jersey during a Leafs-Devils game two years ago (sucks to have that Jersey now, I suppose :) ) and nobody said a thing to him all game.

Walking around the city is even more friendly. A jersey will elicit some friendly chatter and fun chirping if anything. JT jerseys get support - he's liked and respected in this city. Not sure how a Shawn Bates or Eric Cairns jersey would do though - don't see any around here ;)

Stubhub update:

( Poulin 0n My St1ck - you got a nice deal at $150 )

lower bowl tickets for tonight's "meaningless" mid-week game against the lowly-lottery-Islanders:

I want to see JT score a hat-trick, add four assists and take over the NHL scoring race and I want to see it live. It shouldn't cost me $700 for two tickets, parking, food, drink!

I purchased a ticket to Isles in Philly Saturday night. I don't anticipate any issues. Of course I am 36 and don't start bleep with opposing fans. Philly fans get a bad rap. Been to countless games without issues...

Suddenly me being slightly annoyed about paying a $20 for the bruins game sounds a little ridiculous.

I'm used to paying under or around $10 for every game except ranger games really sometimes Saturday games go a little up as well but weeknight games getting as low as $5 makes up for it haha.

Vanek out for isles as per staple

Nelson - Tavares - Okposo
Bailey - Nielsen - McDonald
Bouchard - Regin - Clutterbuck
Boulton - Cizikas - Martin

the lines at practice, according to staple.

I don't mind them. I like CMac replacing PMB !

I usually hate playing Boulton but I don't mind it tonight the leafs are a pretty physical team and would rather Boulton go at it than lose Martin for serious minutes

amazing that I could drive to the Coliseum, stay at the Marriott, have a nice dinner for far less money than seeing a Leafs game at the ACC. The "event" parking in Toronto, for Leafs games is typically $30, though, if you know the city well, you can park for free (a few blocks away) or for $10.

They just raised parking at the coliseum this year from $10 to $12

Hey guys! Leafs fan in peace here. Good luck tonight!

Also, its really nice to hear all of the polite things you guys have to say about Toronto. Always love it when Johnny Hockey comes to town!

Best of luck to him waking up when stupid throws him back on a line with 4-pt Regin and 4-pt Clutterbuck.

Both of which have more points in their last 15 than Grabner.

Regin has 2 in his last fifteen, Clutterbuck only played fifteen but has 4. Grabner has one.

It's not even that, he hasn't looked good.

This cant be serious? You can get tickets for $5?!?! I'd be there every day of the week if that was true here in Toronto:laugh:

If, and that's a big IF, you can find tickets at face value to a Leaf game they start at $56

That's cool but gotta say I am a little surprised to hear. At 46 certainly wouldn't be looking to start $hit but would be tough if some drunk is throwing beers (which I had happen a long time ago when I went to an Isle-Rags game at the Garden). I guess you only hear about the 1-2% of fans that take it way too far but still, probably would be a little nervous showing up in full gear in Philly. It sounds like you have done it a while so have a great time and hopefully you are cheering alot !! :naughty:

Yeah, I took my boys to the game last minute on Saturday and was slightly dismayed that all I could get was 124 row H for $30. One positive byproduct of 20 years of struggle....cheap as hell tickets.
