Nelson has say where he goes and it won't be Van. And Lou isn't even stupid enough to trade both Brazal and Dobson for EPThis
or Barzal and Nelson

No. Nelson is at the end of his career and Pettersson has yet to hit his prime yet. We don’t need Dobson, we would need a young top line CThis
or Barzal and Nelson
Unless that plus is Hughes, why would NYI give up 2 assets more valuable than EP?
Now factor in contractsAll of them are having down years. EP40 is by far the best of the players based on stats.
Main pieces:
To VAN:
Barzal
Dobson
To NYI:
Pettersson
Boeser
Add other pieces as you see fit
The thinking is if the Canucks could pickup Dobson and re-sign him long-term then their top 4 d are locked up for a long time. Willander becomes a trading piece anyways.
Hughes - Hronek
Pettersson - Dobson
+ Myers, Soucy, Mancini, EP2 etc
This to me seems plausible. Bo will vouch big time for both EP and Brock.Main pieces:

Barzal
Dobson

Barzal would be the main return, Nelson would be more of a rental to help with the playoff push. That would be two centers to help with the loss of EP and Miller.No. Nelson is at the end of his career and Pettersson has yet to hit his prime yet. Probably need a decent size piece being added to what Vancouver is giving up.Main pieces:
To VAN:
Barzal
Dobson

Boeser

Pettersson is a bit younger and would probably produce better than Barzal has in NY. His career numbers are better as well. Even though Barzal is a heck of a player, it feels like he hasn't reached his true ceiling with the Islanders. Those two are close in value but I'd give the edge to Pettersson. Dobson is the third best player in this situation, and while it would be huge "+" to acquire him, I just don't see the Canucks depleting themselves that much at C without getting one in return. The price would be massive, no doubt.Unless that plus is Hughes, why would NYI give up 2 assets more valuable than EP?
Allow me to expand on the logic. This to me seems plausible. Bo will vouch big time for both EP and Brock.
Lou would wind up moving Engvall, 2026 1st and other random oddball pieces for EP40 and no one would expect it to happen.Nelson has say where he goes and it won't be Van. And Lou isn't even stupid enough to trade both Brazal and Dobson for EP
Vancouver doing some wild things.
Miller was a big enough culture/locker room changing move but to go ahead and trade EP as well in the same year is bananas.
All while trying to compete? Or is this an extreme retool on the fly?
Obviously has to have Barzal go to Canucks for this to even make sense.
why on earth would they do this?Probably need a decent size piece being added to what Vancouver is giving up.

Yep, posted that same trade idea above. Makes senseVan : EP40 + Boeser
for
NYI : Barzal _ Dobson
Is there any truth to the rumours that Barzal has zero desire to return to play in Vancouver? I’ve heard that he doesn’t want the limelight, but then he’s caught openly criticizing fan support on Long Island…Allow me to expand on the logic.
Horvat reunites with Pettersson and Boeser.
Hometown kid Barzal goes back to Vancouver and becomes their new #1C.
Hughes-Dobson could be killer for years.
Another Minnesota guy in Boeser joins Lee and Nelson on NYI. Nelson signs rumored 3 year offer to stay on NYI alongside two fellow statesmen.
Pettersson joins growing Swedish presence on NYI (Engvall, Hogberg, Boqvist, Holmstrom already in tow).
Makes sense to me.
First I've heard of that rumor so I would say no but someone can fact check meIs there any truth to the rumours that Barzal has zero desire to return to play in Vancouver?
My bad , missed itVan : EP40 + Boeser
