Rumor: Isles going after Petterson; Dobson possibly involved

I wouldn’t move any of the first 4 names either. The only reason why I listed the other two was because I’d keep both unless the right offer that blew the team away came along. Dobson would be the best shot to acquiring a massive piece that helps the roster both short and long term. Ideally if I’m Lou and I move our Dobson for a forward, all 3 of the defenders recently picked up come back and Isaiah George as well next year with Cholo and Reilly out. Gives the team 8 defensemen to work with unless George starts in the A.

They've been scooping up RDs left and right, it wouldn't surprise me if the trade, if any, is for a lower tier player, like Andersson.
 
speaking to our poor Isles fans here....Do you get the feeling, like me that Lou is going to screw this up royally? I'm so afriad what he's going to get for Dobson...

It would make sense if it was Barzal for Pettersson. Barzal peaked in his rookie season and both players might benefit from a change of scenery. But Dobson for Pettersson sounds extremely far fetched.

Well makes sense for The Islanders to do it now, not so much for the Canucks. if they want to retool and trade Petterson, that is a off season move(s)

This would make no sense for the isles...it would be a lateral move. That's why this rumor screams BS.... Van and Isles are not a match.

Petey for Dobson, flip Dobson for a center?
 
It seems odd to me that Vancouver would prioritize paying Dobson a mega deal (let alone dealing their only true top six center) when they have Quinn on the PP, just paid Hronek and traded for and paid Marcus Pettersson. Tom Willander is a RHD stud in the making. If you want to bring in another good 4/5 guy for the long-term I think that may be smart but to sink the kind of cap it’s gonna take for Dobson’s next deal I to that position when there’s a pretty good chance you may be able to run Quinn-Hronek and MP-Willander as soon as next year seems overkill - or at least an odd use of remaining resources (trade and cap).

Martin (in your case Marrin) isn’t going anywhere. Plus, Soucy has too many years left for the Islanders liking…

What did the GM say? And provide the full quote please.

All im saying is the reasons for not wanting him can be a lot but because hes soft is funny considering Horvat and Barzal are some of the softest players in the game.

LOL you can't be serious....Van GM before he traded Miller was making qoutes about EP almost every other day. I watch all podcast and I was watching a few that cover Van and they couldn't understand what the hell your GM was doing. Saying he would stop talking.

Pettersen and hronek are both locked in, Dobson is t so I agree Dobson has less value then hronek.
