Yet I'm confident he would own the Canucks in a deal.

Barzal, Horvat, Romanov, Sorokin and possibly even Holmstrom or Tsyplakov (in some sense) are the teams borderline untouchables on the roster currently.

Makes 0 sense from an Islanders perspective if they Trade for Petterson and then resign Nelson.

Perfect scenario would be they trade for Petterson and then in a separate trade deal Nelson for futures. All that being said I couldn't see a Dobson+ for Petterson swap until the draft if it ever happened

I don’t see this working unless one of two things is true:

1. Barzal is coming back with Dobson as part of a bigger deal.

2. Dobson is coming back, with additional assets, and they have a second deal lined up with those assets to bring an “impact” center back into our line up.

I don't agree with Tsyplakov, I would move him in the right deal. I do think Brazal is untouchable if you are moving Dobson. You are not trading your 2 best young players.....We aren't Van!!

I would love a deal with Buffalo with for Dobson around a few of those guys you mentioned.

The reason it would happen now is that Lou has decided he doesn't want to put any of the new D through waivers. They should all be back soon after the tournament is over - I think it would require putting two of Perunovich, TDA, and Boqvist through waivers. This could very well be Lou going to VAN and being like "if you want him, you we have to do this now"

Yeah but I mean the Isles aren't trading Dobson for Forsberg and I'd be shocked if LA moved Kempe. He's signed for one more year so Isles aren't doing that either.
