Friends,

We seem to have painted ourselves into a bit of space/time peccadillo.

There needs to be a GDT by the author of the previously won game's GDT. But, unprecedented developments have caused that to be on the safe side the probably also needs to be a Pre-Game thread.

The problem is, it's a back-to-back game.

As I understand it, there are no rules on who posts a pre-game thread after a win. Also, not counting for maybe a one or two randy devils among youse, you are all sleeping now. It's not tomorrow until you have slept. As I type we are living in Schödinger time. Methinks this is the safest bet. No one do math, no looksy in the box.

So this is a *cough-mumble* thread, which is posted by me, in this posting of mine, to meet all the requirements. I would have conveniently forgot to put in the appropriate prefix, but I accidentally posted it prematurely anyway because of slip of finger before the issue had chance to arise.

There will be a game of hoccy later on, with fellas from Breuckelen coming to be well meth in Raleigh. Slavin is on goddamn fire. I think we have this bagged.

With even decent goaltending, that game probably would have been 3-2 or 4-2 at most last night.

I'm think the Islanders play a very physical game tonight for 2 reasons. First, being pissed off about last night. Secondly, the Canes have put up 20 goals in 3 games against the Isles. Playing loose and open hasn't worked for them and they need a win so I'm guessing they come in physical, tight checking and try to rattle the Canes.

With the 3 games the Canes have played against the Isles this year (4.5% of the games played), they've scored 12% of their total goals on the season.

So one thing we've proven this season is we can score and win against poor goal tending. Hooray. :(

Ron, don't get all giddy about 8 goals against a pylon. We need scorers.

I like to leave Ron messages here. I know he reads them.

So, am I wrong about this: Ward allowed 4 goals on 16 shots?

He saved the rest, but allowed 4 on 16, yes?

I think you're closer to right than you know. I wouldn't be surprised at all. We got under Clutterbuck's skin last night, so look for him and guys on NYI 4th line to be chippy.

On a related note, was Halak so bad that they just intend to let him toil in the AHL for the remainder of the season? I mean he wasn't great but he did post a .904 SV%. If I remember, at that time NYI's defense was pretty suspect. Seems like you'd want to at least bring him up for a try. Over the course of the season Greiss has been about league average, but as Ferraro said last night, maybe he's getting worn down. But Berube has been Cam Ward bad or worse.

It's disrespectful to go maul people at their home. We are no German Man-Shafts you know.

According some posts I read on the Isles board, there were some reports that it wasn't just on ice stuff with Halak. Comments about his training and things like "this is why he's flamed out with other teams". Seems like more going on behind the scenes.

Ah....and that would explain why nobody is taking a flyer on the guy.

BTW... the last time a team had 2 defensemen have multi-goal games in the same game was 2009...the Preds with Suter and Weber.

I don't care who wins, I just wanna hear the building erupt over a few Aho goals tonight.

And Hamonic's. I noticed that he was constantly trying to start **** by giving extra love-taps away from the play.

Not gonna happen, he's hit the proverbial rookie wall. He's done.
