Islanders should re-sign Brad Boyes

Everyone knows that unicorns don't exist... kinda like the good things in Brad Boyes' game. But he scores points!

It shocks me that people are still fans of his and are using crazy rationalizations to argue this guy's existence on the team. I don't know why though, since people have been fans of every pantywaist that can score 15 goals while doing absolutely nothing else since about 1994.

Next year, I'd take just about anyone other than Boyes on the team. Some people have suggested Colin McDonald... ****, I'd take Ronald McDonald over this guy.

Boyes is a black hole when he's on the ice. One of the biggest momentum killers I've ever seen.

I'd take Okposo, McDonald, Martin, Joensuu or even Streit up there at this point.

If Boyes will take $4.5-5 over two years, Garth does it. I am not a Boyes fan, anything but btw. If a Horton or Briere can be had for $4-5 mil on a 2 year deal (per year) then that is exactly where I would spend my money. That's if Wang makes it available of course...

I think he becomes a UFA and some troubled club (Calgary come to mind) gives him what he thinks he is worth and what his points 'deserves'. Boyes hasn't earnt many points this year and his all round game is suspect, at best.

Anyone else think theres a chance Boyes is playing hurt? He was so much better earlier in the season. He's been awful for a while now but the last couple games haven't been quite as terrible.

We have the £, not euros...read my post, I don't rate the guy but if he will sign for $2-$2.5 (per year) over two years, Garth does it.

for less than $2M/season, I think Garth signs him in his sleep for 2 years. i hate it, but it's true.
i think garth sleeps on paying him more than $2M/season or signing him for more than 2 years. hopefully, he wakes up and spends the $ elsewhere.

Back on topic, let him walk. He is playing harder, but he does not fit on the first line. We need a RW who can carry the puck, work along the boards, and not turn over the puck.
