No renewal email but got this from my rep.

Sweet - the one STH who got an offer to show up in their Isles gear is a Rags fan!

Are you going to show up in your Rags gear and throw a big wrench into the process? I almost wish you would.

Lmao, I've gotten a few emails about cool stuff like that. There was one in December about inviting me to a morning skate along with other STH. I post them here so others see what's being offered if they didn't get the email or may have missed it. So far I've been sent this, the morning skate thing, and some viewing party invite for a game either this month or last, forget when. The initial meet the team email too.

My rep is Leah, btw. She's been very helpful and responds fairly quickly too whenever I email her for whatever reason. I sent her a really long email detailing a lot of the complaints discussed here, including the warmups issue, back in like October. Wonder if I've been getting some of these invites because I voiced my concern if others haven't been getting it.

As far as showing up, as much as I'd love to I think I'll be passing on it :)

I've gotten all that other stuff, but not this.

I get a daily message daily saying it should be out by the end of the day today or tomorrow.....

This is getting ridiculous, giving season ticket holders less than a week to decide on a renewal is quite aggressive. Still not sure if my ticket plan is going down, up or staying the same.

For some reason, I was more optimistic the week before Christmas... I'm less into it this week... although I did notice that I was unable to get a $15 seat for the Dallas game... so things are looking up.

I see nothing about pricing outside of you being locked in for the same price at the least.

But that's for all STHs, not just for auto-renews.

Unless I'm missing something, auto renewing gets you:

1. a 12 month payment plan;
2. a pre-sale for playoff tickets;
3. Some crap I'll never go to.

The link has it slightly different than the email. As per Jay's post, the email says:

New season ticket holder benefits for the 2016-17 season include:
Bonus Seat Program- complimentary tickets to two (2) regular season home games**
Unused Ticket Credit Program- insurance for two (2) missed games**
Individual Game Price Protection- purchase individual tickets at the season ticket holder rate**

The website has it as:

ADDED SEASON TICKET HOLDER BENEFITS FOR THE 2016-17 SEASON INCLUDE:

Bonus Seat Program - complimentary tickets to two (2) regular season home games**
Unused Ticket Credit Program - insurance for two (2) missed games**
Individual Game Price Protection - purchase individual tickets at the season ticket holder rate**

I'm assuming the website is correct. Wouldn't make sense to offer those benefits to only new STHs for next year. Current STHs would rightfully be pissed off.

Edit: In reading it again, I'm guessing they meant for them to mean the same and it wasn't the STH that was new, rather the benefits. Still the website version is a little more clear.

These "added" benefits definitely have value but they don't seem to be specific to auto renew only, right?

I only took the benefits for the auto renew to be under the exclusive section that included the playoff pre-sale, 2 Barclays events tickets, etc etc.

The auto renew benefits were very underwhelming to me if you're on the fence IMO. No reason not to wait it out if you're undecided still considering you get the same pricing no matter what. The only real good perk there is the additional playoff tix.

Here's this years pricing. Some prices have actually been slashed. Anything that was slashed appears to be in the lower bowl.

By the way, the Islanders can potentially screw all of you who think you're choosing not to renew. Look at opt out page:
http://islanders.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=109515

"Season ticket holders who opt out of auto-renewal will become part of the traditional renewal process and will only receive the following benefits:
Nine-month payment plan (January-September)"

So by opting out of a 12-month payment plan, you instead are opting IN to a crappier 9-month payment plan with less benefit??. Come January 15, after thinking you opted out, you may get charged and notice you re-upped without even realizing it

Good catch. So if then auorenewal deadline is January 15th or so, but the traditional plan starts charging you in January, when the hell is the opt out for the traditional plan?? Or is it much later and then you get reembursed?

That has to be a mistake. There is no way they will be charging you - starting now - if you have not decided to renew. It will probably be May/June/July - September if you renew in the Spring.

It seems like the hook (in addition to some meet and greets) is extra playoff tickets if you renew now. That seems like a fair offer that has some value. Of course, we have no idea the price point of those tickets and if they are similarly priced to what they have the Rags tickets at now, the offer has very limited value.

As you mentioned regarding price point. I think it was last year that they priced them so high even for priority presale that it basically didn't make sense to buy from the Islanders.

Sweet - the one STH who got an offer to show up in their Isles gear is a Rags fan!

Are you going to show up in your Rags gear and throw a big wrench into the process? I almost wish you would.

Honestly, he's the one who needs the makeover the most! Get him out of that nasty Zubov sweater and put him in a nice Islander hoodie.

It's not a mistake. I was just told that the regular renewal process goes from late January through March. It's stupid.... Here is my example. Let's say I want to be in section 123 and it's sold out....and half the people renewed.
Is there anything available?
No.. I have to wait for all the other people to say no first.. That can go through March.
OK... In that case I think I'll wait until March also... and wait until the preseason games drop off the offer.

So if I follow correctly:

- If you decline the auto-renew, you still get charged starting January for next years games on a 9 month payment scale.

- You have until March or end of March to opt out of season tix all together, and then get a refund for those January - March payments you made on the 16-17 season?

Edit: I don't follow the bolded..

As you mentioned regarding price point. I think it was last year that they priced them so high even for priority presale that it basically didn't make sense to buy from the Islanders.

Exactly - I had a friend who ended up getting screwed. He bought his seats (at a discount) and then bought several blocks of seats in 223 for whatever the presale price was with the hope of breaking even on the playoffs. He couldn't move the extra tickets and ended up taking a loss or even eating some. Gotta be careful there.

If we're playing the Rags, I suspect they'll move pretty well though.
